the ba was differant i bought a gt without looking at a phoon . i got 6 sp manual . today . in BF guise i'd be driving all of em before i made a choice . hence i'd be a real bbaarrrssssted to sell a car to now. but the dealer who had an f6 man , f6 auto, , gt auto, gt man , xr8 auto , xr8 man. would probably get my sale. |

alright. so lets get this cleaned up before i loose my mind! spooling is sorta the same as stalling a N/A car up to the perfect revs before it starts spinning?

Why are people making comments on modded turbos when they have had no first hand experience. Just looking at the fooly sik half chassis cars spooling from the stands at calder _

Building up boost at the lights is mainly something small engined cars do, Falcons with 4 litres of engine have enough torque before boost comes on to be able to take off from the lights quickly still, and being a larger motor also means they spool up faster anyway.
As for the choice of cars, I'd take the F6, sell it, then with the cash buy an EL XR6 and turbo it for a drag car, put a 347 in the EF, drop a stroker 351C in an XE, and build an EA turbo drifter

When i'm at Calder i haev 2 race modes. 1) I ignore the green light and race the clock. I make sure everything is perfect before launching. 2) I race the car next to me. I go on green and get to the end as fast as i can when the light goes green. Generally option 1 will give me quicker times, but only just. I've had numerous 10second passes going on green. At one stage along time ago my PB was actually running on green. Like i said if your in Melbourne, i'll take you for a spin and you can decide for yourself. Geea

Tough choice IMO..
I have only heared what each of these FPV's can do, so i can only go from what i have heared and seen. So i would say... For Very Very good looks and fun power go GT For Very good looks and awesome fun power go phoon. But its really your choice mate.. (really its good to have the option of both)

From this thread I have to say two things:
1) Anyone who cans an F6 obviously hasn't driven one. Do this, then tell us what you think. 2) It's blatantly unfair to compare a "modded 5.4" with the stock typhoon. Allow for mods to the typhoon and then see where you're at.

Thats my point, the two cars are aimed at seperate markets.
If your not sure buy the F6. GT buyers in most cases dont have any doubts about the car they want. |
