in a way the best comments are when you get "that's a sweet GT mate" even though XC GT's don't exist - at the same time it's damned annoying getting a comment from someone so stupid and ill-informed.
plenty of comments at the fuel pump, and there's always atleast one person having a gawk. the ex- XA-XC owners always give the best comments though.

G'Day I reckon that my XC 351 fairmont was the best ford I eva had It was steel blue with ....wait for it ..a light blue vinyl roof. Holly carb & bilstien shocks
There was just something mean about it that is not replicated in my XR6 |

a p plater in an older manual honda prelude tried to drag me today... i didn't even realise he was going to drag until i heard his wheels spin when he took off. i had to change into his lane so i just floored it and by the time i reached 60 i was already ahead of him! we then came up to red traffic lights and he turned into the left turning lane and gave me a thumbs up when he went past! :P

Sorry to make you all argue over XC's.
I did not say the thing handeled well. Shit my XR6 is all over it It was just the way it sat on the road It looked so mean comming up behind you on the highway Or perhaps it was the memories of what I used to get up to in that car at the drive in Memories |

Same as it was with my car, good thing was I used to beat them all too. Then I'd ccop the death stares from the commo drivers, the stereos would turn up and they'd do the obligatory losers "drive by" at 120 kays after I'd won comfortably and slowed back down...
My next door neighbors 16 year old used to love it as well. Reckoned he wanted it when he got his licence. As did the young apprentice mechanic at Maxims in Warrandyte... |

Weird that this thread gets brought up again, as just a week or so ago i had another dude stop next to me near an intersection when i was waiting for the lights (he was oncoming traffic). He wound down the window and said something rather nice about my wheels wheels, and that my car sits really well on the road (stance). He had a pretty mint EB Fairmont Ghia with superlows and turbo blades so i let him know his car wasn't so bad itself ;)

Had a nice compliment right out of the blue a couple of days ago, was waiting inside safeway just after closing time for my g/f to go sign off, the manager came up to me (must of seen me pull in as he was doing trolleys) and asked me how long ago i resprayed it, because it looks damn nice. Was very pleased to tell him that it hadn't been to my knowledge

I didn't really have anyone notice my car at all - until that is i lowered and put the s-pac wheels on. Now I get regular "nice wheels" comments and the odd "your car looks too low" which always makes me laugh.

Sorry to dig this one out :evil_laug but I have one.
When I was stopping for an RBT the last cop in the line did mine and then said "Nice car mate, very nice." Then started to comment on the wheels and where I got them from and how they looked great on my model (EL). That was about the end of it before I had to move out of the way of the people getting RBT'd behind me. I made sure I drove of slow so the exaust would burble a bit as I took off (with an expanded cranium) |

i've never really gotten much praise till i put the rims on. then both of my mates say this...
"you gotta be happy with that now man. everytime you drive away me and alex both watch it and just say 'damn that's hot'." that was a great moment for me. |

not much praise from me either.. most people jsut say its nice n clean but thats only when im already talking to them, no one comes up to me.
But at the drags a few people came up to me and where expecting a v8 under the bonnet, and when they saw it was a 6 they were quite shocked. Most times i goto the drags im usually the quickest NA 6 out there and its funny when people come upto you and think that i spent thousands on the motor i laugh. try just over a 1000 worth of engine/driveline mods mate lol. Yet they think im lying because there mates v6 has had about 3k spent on it and its running low 15's :P I love 4.0l
