Have to agree that is an excellent effort and a great looking car.

Yes the exhausts are not legal, and some minor treatments will need changing but it would have to achieve what they wanted.

Without an export program to share costs Ford won't be able to make a business case for this.

I said it in earlier thread - if they used more of the Iosis style themes to make the 4 door sedan look like a 2 door - then they could do something close.

Business as usual................

Probably the same reason they poor millions into V8Supercars. Its advertising, its the branding, its the overall concept that Holden are making muscle cars superior to thier competitors. Even if untrue, they got my attention which would otherwise not bother to look. They may end up loosing money on this model if it goes into production, but gain millions on the 300,000 units of S, SS and entry level HSV's that people will actually buy in droves.

This is my opinion, and I've got my flame suit on. I don't know about it - it reminds me of an Astra from certain angles. The interior is nice, but that steering wheel is garish, and the rear diffuser/boot is awful.

I like some parts of it, especially the front, but all in all, this wouldn't attract me to the Holden Stand any more than the Craptiva does. Just for the record, I drove a Monaro before buying my AU. I bought the AU because it was more likely to be able to tow my boat than a Monaro.

Very nice. Another win to Holden. To me this goes part of the way to fixing some of the styling issue on the front end of the S range of VE cars and perhaps shows where the VE cars are headed.

I will admit it looks good and at least Holden has the balls to do this and most likely they will put it into production, but for f...s sake its only a 2 door commodore. There is nothing in it that you wouldn't expect to have in a sports type car in this day and age,so why all the hype and drooling. Are we jealous of what Holden is doing.Let us wait and see what the new Falcon will be like when on the road.

Nice base car, but the kit looks bad, what is it with holden/HSV and crap bodykits?

Has some pretty cool little bits & pieces most of which wouldn't reach the production version but overall I think it's a very big square car with a round roof, which doesn't look right to me.

Its a nice concept but once you take the 'not for production' pieces off it will look more and more like a two door commodore. I still think the last Monaro would then look better.

I actually like it, in fact its very hard edged for Holden... i bet HSV are annoyed, or is this the beginning of a sales battle between Holden and HSV?

the FGs BARELY got a mention!

What a great looking car

Ford really have to dig deep and provide themselves with a smart image marketing program if they're to be remaining in Australia. This is a classic example of how Holden do it so much better than Ford.

At first glance you wouldnt think another coupe would sell all that great- but they have provided an IMAGE for it. The monaro's, then the GTO's.... most Holden guys would love one of those the most. If this coupe gets released, it will sell very well...there are a lot of people out there quite willing to spend the money on it. They have kind of adapted to this fuel cost crisis by still providing cars for revheads, keeping the image and want alive.

Ford need to think along these lines and while fuel saving is a big must, they shouldnt forget the revheads as obviously the market is still there

i hope it does,
that was one of the things i thought would have been cool in the VZ CV8 i had.
I do like the look of this though, holden followed the shape of the VT-VZ monaros which were just beautiful, a little unsure of the back end on this one but overall pretty sweet looking ride.
How tops would it be if the exhausts stayed in the production models!!

Now if holden hurry up and put it into production it will hopefully be in time for my next lease change over.
C'mon everyone show "overwhelming response" so it happens.

Just proves that they should have had the FG Falcon at Clipsal last weekend.

Holden or HSV or both were always going to attempt to steal the show, despite the irrelevance or otherwise.

Clipsal had 291,400 people through the gates over the 4 days. 91,000 on the Sunday alone.

I don't know the answer to your question. But, in a few years time, the Stang
will share the next GRWD platform... same as Falcon. That is, very
good underpinnings and available in right hand drive if Ford Au wish to
import it... or, in other words, it will be easier for Ford Au to make a Falcon
coupe from this same platform....

Holden and HSV have done it again and stolen the show. Well done to them.
If this is an example of the old catchphrase "competition improves the breed"
then this must be good for Ford as well. I hope its good for Ford. And
thus I welcome these additions to the red corner.

I would never buy such an atrocity and poor excuse for an automobile (ok,
now I'm I've got my blue shirt on) simply cos I don't like what Holden stands
for. Boganism! And the last thing I think of when you're talking about
sophistication, class and proficiency.

I have to say....... I dont like it. Roofline looks all wrong!

Having said that, I dont like the looks of the W427 either. Or the Senator for that matter.

The R8/GTS look horn, but otherwise they're a bit.. try hard.
