so yes, a mixture of weight reduction, better steering response while also avoiding those Asian capacity taxes. Last edited by jpd80; 12-04-2018 at 04:47 AM. |

Can anyone remember if the XE was much heavier than the XD after the switch to the watts link rear end? |

A leaf spring with associated insulators, hanger and shackle would weigh more than a coil and insulator. So its really only the weight of the pivot, rods and attachment points which would offset the saving above. It wouldn't be much if anything. |

Although obviously they will sell to some, that's a big ask for something that only comes with a 2L diesel no matter how good they say it is.
Such a shame as it does look wicked and its suspension is awesome. 3.5 Ecoboost or Coyote no problems ,where do I sign but not today . |

Agreed. It's the best 2L, twin turbo diesel I have ever seen in a ute, but that doesn't mean it's the best engine for the car. Funny how people keep saying the 2l is better than the 3.2L. It's like saying the Ecoboost Falcon was better then the standard NA 6. Maybe objectively it was, but more people bought the NA6, turbo 6 or the XR8 over the Ecoboost. |

The more I look at this the more I see that Ford only had a choice of two diesel engines, the 3.2 or the new 2.0 Panther to showcase their new diesel technology. Forget the 2.3 Ecoboost, that was a very late inclusion forced because the yanks came wanting a Ranger after the 2018 refresh was done and locked in, V engines were ruled out because there was no time to redo the engine bay and change everything so a V6 could fit. |

I thought the ranger raptor would not sell very well at $75k. I have changed my mind. I just saw about 8 Mercedes Benz X class being delivered to a dealership in Newcastle. Gateshead actually. They look very very average in the flesh.
I think the raptor will smash the X class. |

That you know...
The allocation for Australia is roughly what Ford did for FX4 so pretty safe number to shift so not surprising that orders are there. I think the response to FX4 gave Ford more confidence, remember that FX4 sold out quick and they had to complete orders over next month. I'll say right here that I'm not an insider, I pick up a few things here and there but I guarantee that you wouldn't know an insider even if they responded to you. Quote:

I was asking that dealer on Sunshine Coast whether dealers (near him) were getting the same response. Other dealers down south are seeing the same response but i can't speak to their allocations. I'm done. Last edited by jpd80; 13-04-2018 at 07:41 PM. |

If you read the "Dealer Confidential Bulletin" the Raptor has some pretty cool stuff for a dual cab ute.
