The BA Falcon needs to be flashed if you get biger than a 2800 rpm convertor.. Why? There is a failsafe that If there is 0km/h and 2800rpm or more in drive, it shuts down the engine.

Now, I dont belive the AU falcon has this..

Also. talking about lock up convertors.. The Edit allows all these AUTO functions to be changed

That looks a bit like a B&M Supercooler (stacked plate style). Do you know what the size dimensions of it are Casper?

Courier costs aren't that expensive. I had my turbo and manifold etc courier'd from VIC to NSW for like $50.

not sure what you mean by tight but yes, they feel pretty normal when just putting around, no weird noises, no harshness, nothing unusual at all.

Put under a heap of stress (multiple stalls or a long stall up) they are supposedly inclined to go into limp home however Ive yet to have it happen to mine. Overall I'm more impressed with it then I expected. I was willing to have some compromise but, as yet, its all been great. I guess the drag strip will be the biggest test though.

Guy's a Hi Stall best thing for getting the car of the line, but you will need drag radials or they spin spin the tyres on a decent launch....2.06 is the best 60 footer we have got from Hamo AU6 using a 2500 rpm hi stall..
tonights best 60 footers were 2.08, 2.09....

Sorry Mark, I had a good play with it today and I'll get 100% traction with it at the track on about 20psi on dunlop 3000a's too. I suspect that in Gary's case and mine the IRS and its weight and distribution of that weight is actually going to work to our advantage. Not to mention not having the same hit of peak power that Hamo's AU has from its more aggressive cam.

sp3000 are a good tyre for racing, 1.98 is crazy on stock 6 cylinder, i would say your converters are stalling higher than the dominator 2500 rpm we are using....
if we could get a 1.98 we could run a 14.1 for sure....we have the 97.6 mph to do it....
The Cam is a baby now..

its the art of getting Hamo to flash it properly, he was getting the hang of it then it rained tonight...There is no way we can flash or stall that hi..
along with getting the manual changes spot-on, takes time for the young-ins to get it right every pass...it makes a huge difference in the mid track MPH.

Jim Mock stall converters are the only stall converters which I have heard of in this country which have perfect drivability and a flash stall speed of 3000. This is a big credit to JMM to also retain drivability at these specs .

I can honestly now say that with what they achieved in this product definately justifies the higher than average cost. You get what you pay for.

I was told by many companies that anything above 2500 stall speed was possible but drivability and fuel economy would suffer.
On their website JMM claim it would stall to 2500 rpm on a stock car. I also know that a 2500 stall converter can even get 3500 flash stall if the engine produces more torque. It makes it higher.

Auto transmissions have temp sensors in them which trigger limp home mode.

Guys is the tranny cooler linked into the radiator still or stand alone?

Just remember another factor Mark..
The weight of a car affects the stall speed. If Caspers stallie went into Lamignes fairalne it would stall higher than in the xr6.The stall converter stalls higher because it has more weight resistance to overcome at stall speed and before the car moves .A lighter car will naturally cause less weight resistance(lighter car) and stall lower with exactly the same converter.
As I recall correctly Hamos car is one of the lightest of the AU range..

Stav.. WTF???

Gary and I have the same stall, almost identical mods and bost have VCT engines. We both are getting almost identical stall rpms too.. weight has nothing to do with this.

Yes it does mate..ask Brenden next time you see him.Stall speed is higher in a heavier vehicle.More weight=more stall speed to move the thing. Not my opinion mate ...just the physics of the stall speed vs weight of car. Stall speed is the speed at which the stallie overcomes resistance.A heavier car will need the stall speed to be higher because the stall must slightly higher to move the heavier car.
