You get what you are given from rental car agencies during the school holidays...they are short of wheels atm.

Next week they will be trucking them back south.

Went to the Blue Moon last night. Very nice dinner and for the quality, very good pricing! Nice to be served by locals rather than backpackers for a change

Passed an AU with cobra stripes and body kit last night. Put some effort I to that one! Apart from that, lots of commo's and not many V8. Pr ably because of the higher rego here?

Well after checking the Weather for the next week I see the Landau lair hasn't used up all the good stuff.

Having put 6000k's on the Barge in the last 2 weeks with 2 trips to Hervey Bay (I was halfway to Cairns, I should've kept going and save the plane fare!) I really need a holiday now.

Smithfield Tavern for a steak. Stay at Cairns Beach Resort Holloways Beach (Tell them Hal sent you)

Go to green ant cantina and try the death wings and suck in the atmosphere.

Go watch the cane toad racing in Pt Douglas.

Trek 3km for a swim at Behana Gorge

Loads of things....

At the moment ....... next week apparently is Monsoon season!

Can't believe (I can really) how bloody cold Melbourne is. It is coming onto November and still getting 15 deg days :( Might just move to Mission beach and be done with it!

Highlights ..... Mrs liked the Skyrail but if you do it, just as a suggestion by the girl who booked it at our place of stay, do the train up and skyrail back. You get the good effect of coming over the hill into Cairns. I enjoyed it but not into heights actually. 3 rungs on a ladder is enough.

I enjoyed Mossman Gorge. The walk was great, pelted down but was a great place to be if you like rain forestry type stuff. Glad we didn't stay at Port Douglas as we nearly did. I could not believe how busy the place was. Mayhem and very very Sorrento! Don't know if its like that all the time. Will stay at Palm Cove next time .......

Also really enjoyed the run to Atherton through the hills and then down to Mission Beach. Great drive and would have been soooooo much more enjoyable than the Camry. GOD those things can scream ..... don't you love hire cars! Passed (going the other way ... as if I would pass one in a Camry) a white GT335. Made me disappointed didn't have mine but a most enjoyable drive. Watched the platypuss's (platypusie ? ) and watched a tree Kangaroo .... bit of a hoot to spot those.

Food is good and very reasonable! Didn't have a bad one ..... Tha Fish at the Marina I was very impressed with. Really great Seafood paella! Best I have had.

Green Island? GREAT for the 'Asian' tourist ...... all 6,000 of them (not that many .... few less) Enjoyed it though but not the place for anyone wanting to do any serious snorkeling or a 'real' barrier reef experience .... or the quiet island stuff. Take the boat to the outer reef and see the real stuff without the hoards. Was a good introduction though and enjoyed the day. Food expensive ..... take some with you!

Weather was perfect 1 day ..... ****ing the next .... perfect the next ..... but the temp didn't falter and no complaints at all

Enjoy Rog!

Yeah Green Island resort's owned by Chinese so they're obviously reaching out to the Asian countries - Hong Kong, China, Taiwan etc ... hence the million chinese out there...

To be serious for 1 moment .......

The Platypussies are at Yungaburra on the way to the Tree towards Atherton as said by Marcyeo. There is a bridge there and a sign that says Platypussususus viewing platform ..... we thought, we being the wonderful tourists we are, would have a sticky .... and low and behold there are actually Platypie in the river under the bridge! Was a little thrilled. Little buggers they are.
