I think fuel consumption is very relative since it heavily depends on the average speed. To make statistics more accurate and comparable to different users, shall we post our avg speed as well?

Both refills on Mobil Synergy 8000. Not as good fuel consumption as other Fez owners. !
Mine has gone up a fair bit because of the area I drive in (low speed, stop starts, cold weather) but you really can't compare averages, as everyone has different souroundings, impacts on the car, their own driving style. I'm with Curick, we need average speed and km traveled to more accuratly compare all this data.

I find doing up a spreadsheet and keeping track is a good way to accuratly moniter your fuel. We should do one up as a forum!

I use Gas Hog on my ipod touch for this. Though if you only put in $20, it throws the calculations. Have to fill it up.

I travel 15kms to work and it is along suburban streets, Ipswich Motorway,90km/hr,and thru Moorooka/Annerley.13 sets of traffic lights. My speed would be 60 to 90km/hr. It isn't in peak hour, as I work afternoon shifts, no peak hour travel. My WP Fez constantly returned 6-7l/100kms. My WQ is worse than my WP Fez.

I have an Excel based logbook I used to use a long time back.

Feel free to use it - plenty of autocalcs in it and self explanatory

Gave up because it was all too much effort and I don't really care much about fuel use these days

Edit - Damn, it exceeds the attachment size by 30KB so had to strip out some of the good stuff
Attached Files
File Type: xls Fuel data.xls (49.5 KB, 45 views)

No problem

As I said, I had to remove a number of tabs that were in it to get under the attachment file size limit.

Stuff removed includes fuel brand analysis, log extracts from Scangauge (to estimate driving style versus fuel use comparison) etc

I put the file together a few years back.

A zipped xl file went from 49kb to 12kb. Maybe an option if you think the extra info would be handy/interesting.

Cheers

Interesting... I just tried to upload a couple of files and the thing said "files owned by oldsoftboss" It was about 100kb and the bar was only about 20% across ?? Could this be the total of all files you have ever uploaded? Doesn't make sense to me.

May be my user status (I know from moderating on other forums that attachment size can be set by users status and profile)

I'm still a young 'un on here :

HOY HOY...so far been putting in 98RON Shell fuel and average consumption has dropped to 7.0L/100km. Prior to that, (not sure what the dealer put in) I was getting around 10L/100km.

3rd refill since service and ecu reflash. Trip to Cooloongatta and Fez returned 6.89l/100kms or 40.94mpg. Thats more like it. So, Fez's don't like city driving ? isn't that what they are designed for ???

I'm not a lead foot, but I'm not slow either. I try not to rev over 4000rpm, and stick mostly to 3000rpm. I'm getting 6.5 L/100km so I'm very happy with that. That's with short cold drives, hills and is a mix of about 30% hiway/50% urban/20% extra urban.

My wifes getting 6.4L/100, that's 4 cold starts a day, 100km a day which is 85% highway. Not really very good compared to the advertised specs but if you discount them as dreaming, then it's ok. I'm able to do the same trip just a little under 6 strangly.... her foot control must be a bit unco

Based on MFD and also fillup with km's before and after

Both = 5.8 L/100km

I'm quite dissapointed at how inaccurate my trip computer calculations are. Here's my results, averaged over the last two tanks for mainly freeway driving conditions:
77 litres
1150 km travelled
Manual calc = 6.7 L/100km
Trip computer = 5.8 L/100km

That means my trip computer has about 15% error! It seems like no else is having this issue. I wonder if the Ford dealer would do anything about it?

Just had my 3,000km service or check over should i say.I filled my car from when the fuel light come on BP ultimate thats all ive used from day dot and run it till the light come on again and i got 630klm's 5 door CL.

I questioned my ford dealer on first service check up about oil change
as i was always aware they dump the oil and put clean in,not the case with ford they stopped doing it years ago apparently they bench run them with the stuff on the production line for so long to get rid of all metal fragments and then put the decent oil in once assembled so no need for a change on your 3,000klm service.I also asked what the run in time ie. klm's
and got told there isnt just drive the car loke any other used:

Made a huge difference to ours.

Mind you, I don't listen to dealers, especially Ford ones .

same here. changed my oil + filter at 1500 with castrol edge 5w-30 as well. For $42 (oil $35, filter $6 or so) cant go wrong. The car is now noticeably smoother and more willing to rev. Also definitely helps to reduce fuel consumption

I bought a two bottles of Castrol Edge when Supercheap had it on sale for like $45.00, but $35.00! What a bargain!

WOW! I've had mine just over a month and it only has 1500km on it, and that's mostly from driving all over the Sunshine Coast and then back to Toowoomba (about 500km!!!). Has the engine got more fizz about it yet greenfoam?
