Bit of a Rough, uncalled for comment don't ya think?

I hope the owner of F351GT is not on this forum or ever gets to read your post. As I doubt he would share your same sense of humor!

Why is it uncalled for?
All he did was comment and I didn't see any attempt at humor in it.
A car got crashed and it looks like no one died so I reckon he's allowed to comment. At least that one was actually being driven....

The Mustang will still be rare in Aus for a while.

I was speaking to the local dealer a few weeks ago and they said they have taken about 10 orders already for the Mustang and it will take around 3 years for the orders to be filled.

So I still think in the next few years you will nto be able to get a GTF for under retailer price. Maybe even under 100 grand.

Watch this space Australia.

GTF will keep going up and up as the years track on... It's the last Australian built GT, and the most powerful, and the fastest!
In only 4 months we've already lost 2.

Give it 30 years and these will be worth a mint. They must be driven though, it is our duty to keep people glimpsing them from time to time. Otherwise they will be forgotten.

This Wednesday, FPV drive day, gtf003 will be on for some hard driving fun. Might get those Michelin ps3 on the rear sooner than expected. Hope there is a photographer on hand. Love that gtf014 shot with it cranked sideways and smokin. Hopefully they don't nanny us too much.

Please people, enjoy your GTFs.

They will go up in value providing you keep them clean and maintain them well. However they were meant to be driven and thoroughly enjoyed.

Viva GTF

Yeah I'd say they would repair it, our much cheaper FG F6 had similar damage a few years ago and was repaired..............as unfortunate this would be for the owner the combination of those personalised plates and the obvious side damage make that photo a bit of a classic.

The smart money will be buying up all the NOS parts for these cars in the next couple of years, not in owning the actual cars, if getting your brass back is the aim of the game.

It's only doomed if you let it be. Judging by the responses I got in this thread (over 60) obviously it was an interesting enough topic to indulge in. Also let's not forget, this is a car forum (more importantly a Ford car forum) so we shouldn't be surprised seeing threads about the GTF - whether it's about prices or not.

Now don't get me wrong I also see your point of view too, the last thing we want is for this to turn into a ****ing contest between the old GT vs the new. Honestly we each like different things, and have preferences that may differ to others so we shouldn't let that get into the way of the thread. Both are great cars that suit different buyers. Anyways I think this thread has been going pretty smoothly and I do think it's a topic of interest. If this thread annoys anyone they don't have to post in here - simple as that.

Its was doomed not because of your question... Its because of the expected responses...

Realistically I think we need to wait until the new, driven ones currently being offered for sale have all found homes. These cars will obviously command a premium, and so they should imo................after that it's anybody's guess, but....................

the market dictates values ,..not buyers or sellers ,.if the greater majority are tightly held in the near term they will retain at least their rrp value ,..no more going up the auction result has confirmed this. the 120's 30's & 40's was paid by those that simply wanted one new and had the means to fund it ,doesn't mean that's what the're worth now ,were at the time of sale but not now ,if you bought one to flip for a profit you need to flip it now
if Ford decide to fully load up the FGX XR8 in late 2016,..that will take a few potential used buyers out of the market ,and bring prices down ,then you will have oversupply from the 40-50% that are on a 4 year lease flooding the market ,..Imo at that point they will take a sizeable hit

I don't think this is a 4year lease car or daily driver for many people though, so I don't think that will have the depreciation effect you think it will. This is a keeper for most owners for the foreseeable future, bought by loyal fans with deposits down months in advance of knowing what the car would look like. Normal buying processes and cycles can't be used as guide to values for this last of the last gt.

Xr8 has 0 impact on gtf. Pretty sure it's a different set of buyers.

Funny how the first mention of XR8 in this thread brings you to the surface.

You're right though, different set of buyers, XR8 owners will have plenty left over in the bank and will still cross the line with or in front of you.

Getting back on to the topic. If Ford America are not planning to build and export the high performance models like the 2016 Shelby GT350 and GT500 etc, then there is a very good chance these last FPV GTF's will hold there value very well. Only time will tell.

Well given the XR8 has both less power and is heavier, I cant see that happening...

I was thinking the exact same thing when Ford said the GT350 is North America only now.

Are the new FGX models going to be heavier than the current set of Falcons?

Must be the weight of all the extra kit they come with.

Yep. Barring the G6E, they all have put on weight and the EcoBoost model has dropped 3KW. The XR8 being heavier than the GTF was a big shock!

Could say the same for you based on your criteria of "popping up", I've had plenty of other posts in this thread... Perhaps you could learn to contribute more constructively rather than attacking people?

My intention was not to attack you, but to highlight the sensitivity that GTF owners seem to have RE any time the XR8 is mentioned.
Im not going to dwell on it, but when the original GTF thread was relevant it was flat out.
Ford announced the specs of the XR8 and the ensuing XR8 thread was eerily quiet, in fact it was yourself the lone voice of defiance saying its all good, doesn't concern GTF owners one bit.
Just something I noticed.

As for my posts in the thread, I gave my opinion in my initial post, followed it up with some reasoning and read others views, I don't need to continue banging on to enforce my angle, its either to your liking or not.

so youre saying a fully optioned XR8-F in late 2016 wont lure a used GT-F buyer to a brand new car at the same or less money ?

i beg to differ.

Boys, a gtf thread in the pub section.

Its just asking for haters to troll all over it

Don't waste energy here

I don't understand why supposed ford fans have issues celebrating fords successes, but history shows, pub threads always end the same way... Falcon or GT slagging from the vocal & repetitive minority

Who needs holdens fans as opponents, when we have the enemy within.

plenty on lease that aren't daily drivers i can assure you ,..when the residual payment comes due many will hit the market and thus you will have an over supply ,..seen it happen with other limited builds ,3-4 years and the **** just falls out of them.
this car didn't rate that high with the hardcore GT collector / enthousiast at least not as much as some would have us all believe ,more than a few loyal Ford fans that had deposits down months in advance sold out to the initial high demand,..there was over 80 cars that didn't get delivered to the original deposit holder , sure there was those that ordered one in the hope of a quick buck , but some of us GT enthousiasts just wanted to buy one of the last GT's and not the " F " ( huge F$%k up by the designers imho ) others simply didn't like the styling , you cant knock the car itself ,its a fantastic performance package ,but it will depreciate just like the rest of the limited builds, why ? because FPV decided it didn't want to go out with a bang
