Crippling the court system still won't prevent you from being fined/locked up or having your car confiscated, all you will succeed in in doing is wasting tax payers money because new/more/larger court precincts will need to be built and staffed to cope.

Ok you want me to respond do you, well ok.
HA ha there are worst people around than Hitler, I have worked for them from time to time. But it's not about Hitler is it, the Nazi's or Germans at the time were controlled by a system we have much like today, well it's on the way to becoming a type of the same system, you know with all the brainwashing crap that people are swallowing nowadays and fear of saying something that's not PC. Remember that ex Mayor of London just of late and the great rant that was made over him about a proven total fact that he was asked about, the cunning political criminals don't want anyone to comprehend the facts or the truth about it all, one of the morons had a total rant about Hitler's book, that he demanded to be totally forbidden to be read by anyone. Why is it they are so fearful, because they will be exposed for what they truly are, if people were educated on the subject. Why do you people want to live under PC thugs pushing people around, no thanks I like Australia the way it was, free and open to say whatever you want be it right or wrong = a healthy democracy. We won that war for all our freedom rights back in 1945 but sadly now are loosing the battle that our forefathers fought for. |

Hitler, ex mayor of London, conspiracy theories, crooked politicians, bribery - the list goes on - what's next, infiltration by little green men from the X files.
A law/legislation is in place to place a control - without them, anarchy then rules. Do the crime, do the time - simple. |

Hundreds of people are killed or maimed every year by drink drivers, yet their cars are not taken, are not crushed.
I don't know the figures but I'm betting that 'hoon' offences actually account for a tiny proportion of the annual road toll, yet the police and govco seem intent on targeting that particular demographic. Why? Easy targets. It's too hard to fine someone for being too tired to drive, or distracted by screaming tyrants in the back seat, or those that have no clue on how to drive safely. In qld getting done for no rego is now classed as a hooning offence... Imagine getting your car crushed because you forgot to pay your rego? Window tint too dark is a hooning offence.... |

I guess it's all good if they apply it to the idiots that deserve it being idiots.
But if a ****ed off copper has the power to, and can simply decide on his own to impound your vehicle on the spot and 'let the courts decide' ? I'll be installing a dash cam sooner than i had planned in case of any shenanigans. |

Just about every week somewhere in Perth a hoon loses control and ends up planted in someone's house with many "innocent " occupants either being injured or having a very close call, yet by your standards apparently the hoon should not be apprehended . |

I am not coming from prejudice position about them. Some people on here maybe getting offended thinking that I am offending their love for Nazi's and socialist agendas or even the people with a love for Communist agendas, I know our university's inspire such on young minds as the way of the future. But I support a right to a healthy democracy first and foremost, so there for I have to reject there Political Correctness mantra. Sorry no worship of the PC gods from me, because I know where that trip leads too. |

I already said there are legal instruments available for the police and courts to use to curb dangerous/reckless behaviour. but it seems due process is tedious and inconvenient for some.... |

They can let you off if you treat them with respect that was my point in quoting what you said, you were wrong in saying they wont let you off. What question did I supposedly ask you? Was it in between some imaginary lines that you read? |

All im saying in general is that if you don't drive like a clown you wont lose your car and if you get pulled up for being a crap driver show the cop respect and he "may not" throw the book at you, this is from my own experience with perth coppers, they can be very reasonable imo.

If I had said "will they stop giving chances to people"? that would make it a question.
It was a statement, thats all, maybe i should have just left out the question mark, the actual words did not make it a question, thats obvious to see. Either way you are wrong saying they don't let you off,do you have something to say about that? That was a question directed at you. So as it turns out i never asked a question that you answered, and you were wrong, thanks so much for your insight. Do you even live in wa? |

It depends on many factors, car, attitude, driving record and probably most of all age. Oh and the cops age and attitude. I have had my share of let offs over the past 35 years. One major quite recently

I can see sales of dash cams with GPS going up as it appears that will be the only defense people will have
I am all against driving like an idiot in a residential street (by all means through the book at them) However my concern is that a lot of people (especially on this forum, will simply be labelled as a hoon because of the car they drive) and it could take only one little mistake for someone to lose their pride and joy. I work in an industrial estate, with lots of trucks, so there is small amounts of diesel/oil on the road, this does make the road quite slippery. Now if you have a car that some identify as a hoons car and you are driving through these estates, it is possible that you may (depending on circumstances) have a loss of traction. Should this occur in the presence of a police officer, and they deem that you are hooning I dont see why you should lose your car.

I also work in an industrial estate and the street I'm in is a regular 'hoon' spot late at night...No oil required here...
Each to their own, but I'm waiting for one of them to lose it and end up in my fence - guess who has to pay to repair the fence???

Bash someone and you get let off, Miss a roadwork sign, chirp your tires - lose your car - doesn't quite make sense. If you are doing fishtails in a built up area with people around or in a residential street by all means charge them. My concern is that this law could catch some innocent people out

Yes we have had to pay for our fence and we have even had bits of vehicle remain that have been given to the police so that charges can be laid (not sure if they were) I dont have a problem with the book being thrown at them, my concern is that the definition of hooning is somewhat lacking and that there are other laws that can simply be enforced

Similarly, no one has an issue with the book being thrown at the guy doing donuts amongst a crowd of people. But chirping your wheels is neither here nor there, yet we know eventually this is where the majority of police will focus. |
