Default Cars I've had, and have.

My list is divided into two, daily runners and hobby cars:

Daily runners:

1960 FB Holden S/W, 2 tone green, 3 on tree. (Good but a rust bucket LOL) Also 1962 EK Holden S/W as parts car
1975 Mazda 929 2 door coupe, white, 4 spd (good looker, my first newer car)
1980 Mazda 626 2 door coupe super deluxe, light blue, 5 spd.
1985 Mitsubishi AB Cordia Turbo, white, (a little rocket ship in its day, had for 15 years, very good car)
2000 Mitsubishi CE Lancer MR, red, 1800 (wife took this car over when I got AU)
1998 AU1 Fairmont, Sparkling Burgundy I6, (great car, still think the AU Fairys look great in that colour)
2003 BA Ghia, Mercury Silver, auto, I6.

Hobby cars:

1962 S-Series Valiant, light blue, press button 3 sp. auto (did this car up) Had for 3 yrs
1951 MG TD, red, 4 sp., I restored this to last bolt, winning concours outright 3 times. Had for 20 yrs.
1972 MGB, browny orange, 4 spd + elec. overdrive (still have it after 12 yrs, great fun).
1984 Brocky VK LM5000, white, 4 spd 308 (fun in a different way, shares garage with Ghia and wifes VW Polo)

I think thats all.

1998 EL Fairmont - 6 cylinder, old man spec. nice car to learn to drive in.
1993 EB Fairmont - 6 cylinder, first car registered to me, absolute dream to drive, wish i still had it.
1997 EL Falcon - 6 Cylinder povo pack, but i couldnt pass up because it was a manual, and you know what young blokes are like when it comes to manual falcons!
1993 EB falcon - 6 cylinder, see above, bought and sold within a month. good car for $600 though
1974 Buick Electra - 455ci (7.5L) V8, cant resist old yank tanks, wanted a nice weekend cruiser, more of a headache than your sunday morning hangover...
1998 EL Fairmont - 6 cylinder, wanted a nice daily driver while the buick sits in the car port waiting for parts...

If BENT 8 was here in Vic, he would've spent a fortune in stamp duty. Obviously must be cheaper in SA. Thats a huge number of cars there.
The Datsun 200B stands out a bit from the others.

1:1983 Datsun Skyline R30 - My very first car, and i still see it from time to time drivinvg along. Mettalic green, with poo brown interiour. It was a 3 speed auto, and that didnt hep it much with only 190 odd Nm of torque but it revved quite well - it was the old L24 motor from the Legendary 240Z, complete with Fuel injection. Rust was starting to get the better of it tough so i sold it on for..

2:1989 Ford Falcon S Automatic. It was a bit worn here and there but in much nicer shape than the old Datto..with nearly double the torque of the poor old R30 it was quite a drive for a 17 year old on his Ps and only about 3-4 months experience..it got mee hooked on performance Fords (was more of a Jap car fan before, still is to this day). Out of desire for something properly nice i sold it for a bit of a profit, and got..

3: 1990 Ford Fairmont Ghia. Now this was more like it. 4 Speed auto, Multi-point engine, complete with all factory extras including Alarm/Immobilizer and LSD, this was the Ultimate EA and i still have it in my garage as i type. I have been thinking of selling it a few times but i just cannot bring myself to do it, it is a lovely car by nearly anyones standards. Its not viable for someone driving 600+ kms a week anymore becasue of petrol prices so i now also have a..

4: 1998 Toyota Starlet. Its a zippy little buzzbox with a 5 speed manual (my first manual car actually, woo for me) and a 1.3 4-pot. Gets around 6 litres to 100 kays for cheap, easy transporrtation and pizza delivery. Hopefully its every bit as reliable as Toyotas are meant to be, (so far it has given me no hassles at all in athe first 3000 kms) and it will earn me quite a bit of money.

Lol..Yeah, stamp duty is good on sub $1k cars which many of them were.

I must stress though that im not a shonky second hand wreck dealer, i just buy lots of cars, always have.
My old man still hassles me every time i see him about what im driving this time.
I dont buy crap though, even if it is an old 4 banger it must be tidy or i wont touch it, the VS i just bought was owned by a guy who documented every km and litre of fuel he ever put in it including the servo he used, all in a log book in the glove box. Never missed a service and mint paint for a silver car.
The 200b was mint, but burned more oil than petrol.

I just sold the XE to a guy on xfalcon, and i have the VS & VT Acclaims.....for now.

I've also had a few bikes
Honda 50cc
Yamaha YZ80J
Yamaha YZ80L
Kawasaki KX80
Yamaha DT175
Honda XLX250R(limited edition)

I got about 30% thru typing them and ran out of space. Then i said to myself I best keep this sort of stuff to myself, that many cars may point out to others a possible deep seated phsycosis that may single me out for ridicule and bullying (and we cant have that)on the AFF.....

1991 VN commodore, my first car...
1990 VW kombi,
1994 EF fairmont, had this for 3 years while on p's and not one problem.
2004 BA XR8, current car running like a dream (touches wood).

only had the vn for 3 months, i will accept any flaming that is coming my way.
the ef monty was perfect for me while i was on my p's and saved for the xr8. i would suggest any p plater to do this, not get into a fast car straight away.
