Whats with the torque curve. Looks like that engine cant decide where peak torque is. :togo:

Peak torque is at 6300 but then its almost the same again at 6700, yet peak power is at 6800. Nice broad power band. NOT

well CONGRATULATIONS,....there, a CHI member saying it, yes yes you can pay me out for only running an 11.03@122.8mph :(

im sure if i didnt use street tires and pedders sports ryder springs and shocks all round maybe i could improve the 1.7 60ft

p.s. congrats on the photo shoot, all the race setup in the world wouldnt get my gin tin in a mag :( also paint looks immaculate ;)

Yeah,it does look like it is a bit lean especially with 78/79 jets which would indicate croc is still running a rear pv.
That is the first thing to lose and jet it up by some 8-10 sizes in the rear.
Tuning by using af ratio's is sometimes a bit hit and miss. Using those parameters sometimes you can leave a bit on the table.
I try to tune so that the engine is making the most power and with alloys that can be 13.5 or so . It looks lean but that is where they make the best power.
Some iron headed stuff isn't as efficient and tend to like things a bit richer to make better power.
Well done Dean,there may be more left in that combo yet....

Does Zoran test at 100 rpm per sec?????

what i can tell you as someone who went from ported 4v's to out of the box 3v's on the same motor in the same car is that the car is a lot more smoother to drive, the power comes on a lot more smoother and not as aggresive, and the engine run's a lot cleaner, and the power throughout the rpm range is awesome..

anyway thats my personal experiance with it, i'm not waving a CHI flag just telling my personal experiances with the 2 heads in question...


oh and i have a set of 4v's you can buy if you still want to go that way...

Hemi Power my 70 Mach 1 weighs 3440 lbs (weighed 2 weeks ago on 4 corner scales) and has been 9.69@139 with CHI 218 3V's. Once the summer heat is gone I am confident that I can put the car into the 9.50's at over 140 mph.

Go with the CHI's and have someone that know's what the head wants design a cam for you. You will not be disappointed. _2:

mine is jetted square and runs no power valves..

Nugget,slower rpm rates allow the engine to build power against the load and can lead to higher figures.
I have seen most operators vary between 300-600 rates.

Yeah,the 3v's are a more efficient design and that usually shows up in bsfc's.
IE,they use comparably less fuel to make the same or more power than older designs of cylinder heads.

I had a slight studder on take-off.I then got it tuned at Hallam Performance were Nick has had all is work done,they removed the block off and installed a powervalve.Made a heap of a difference in driveability and performance.I gained 1/2 a second over the 1/4 by doing this maybe something to consider.
