don't laugh . this is rather embarrasing but true . i got blue balls , and thought i had testicular cancer . i went to my local GP . who was off sick , and a lovely young indian doctor came out of the office and in i went , she had sparkiling green eyes . had a feel . and sent me for an ultrasound , all on the same day , a lovely 30 ish brunette had to apply gell to my nuts and rub the ultrusonic tool around my crotch.. then back to the indian doctor for the results . it turns out you can shoot backwards causing saw testicals . ohh well , at least it was all over in a day.

ohh and another embarrassing one just recently . flung my head back on the vinegar stroke , and hurt my neck . 2 days off work , and 9 days to fully recover , didnt bother trying to explain that one to the doc , on how i did it .

Diagnosed with SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus) 3 weeks ago, after being sick for nearly a year (will be a year come July). 2+ month waiting list between seeing specialists is one of the reasons why it took so long. It's a "moderate-ish" case as the doctor said, but it still sucks balls.

Atleast I don't have cancer. :1syellow1

Christmas 05 whilst working on a oil rig in the middle of the Cooper Basin, i suffered Heat Stroke it was a scorching 55 degrees my kidneys shutdown and because of the fact i couldnt/didnt get any medical treatment for over a week i ended up with musscle melt down, it was a very scary time as i didnt go to the toilet for 4 days then when i did my urine was black due to all the blood in it from my kidneys. the doctors said i am a very lucky man that i survived although i have left them baffled with why my muscles and joints are not getting better but thank god my kidneys came good although my stomach muscles are no good for doing number 2's, i went from 95kg to 70kg and i had a good solid build and now i am back to 80kg due to my 3/4 days a week of hydrotherapy and physio. i spent a week in Ashford hospital where i had a muscle biopsy and a lymph gland biopsy and just about every blood test, MRI, CTscan & Bone scan on all parts of my body, then 2 weeks in Griffiths rehab hospital that put me back into perspective of how there are always others out there worse of than you are. the latest path we are going down is with a Rhuematoligist as they think it may have triggered some sort of Arthritic like condition, i have not been back to work since. Moral of this story make sure you keep up your fluids when its hot (i was but it was just a little to hot for me)

In 1994 I woke up every morning burning hot with a juicy headache. Missed a week of school.

A couple of times I've had cold-like symptoms (heavy head, clogged nose, thick snot requiring evacuation of the nasal cavities every 5 minutes) during the day and at night it is compounded by freezing. I can wear 4 pairs of Explorer socks, 4 layers of clothes and still cold as hell. I had that for a few nights as well. Thankfully, it was during the holidays so rather than being out enjoying myself with friends, I was stuck in bed and at home doing bugger all.

I WAS doing a Primary Education course but I shall be quitting it this June with only 1 semester left. I don't enjoy it anymore. I've been told that I shouldn't go in there half-arsed so for now, it's adios. The last 2 times I have been in a classroom, I have become ill with a cold. Great.

But generally, since I finished Secondary School in 2002, I've generally been free of ailments.

Never really been sick.. I got shot in the eye with a bb gun once and almost went blind, but other than that i cant recall ever being sick, apart from the mandatory stuff like chicken pox, even then i cant remember having that.

Glandular fever and pneumonia at the same time back when I was a single parent, working full time, studying full time with no sleep and hardly eating... was in bed for two weeks, pretty much delusional and I dont remember much about it except the pain.... came out of it two weeks later, and was exhausted for months.... took 10 months to get over it well enough to really do anything...

Had that a while ago too. Even though I've had illnesses before I've never been so violently ill as then.

Maybe a day or 2, but I very rarely get sick.

Last time I was sick, was in 2002.

I have the odd cold, but usually over that quickly.

Liver Transplant

Fell into a coma for 10 days, had the liver transplant on the 10th Day, spent 10 weeks in Intensive Care at the Austin, all my muscles disappeared as I was bed ridden.

After Intensive Care went to the Liver Transplant Ward, spent another 10 weeks in there trying to get me stable, once stable went to Royal Talbot REHAB Centre, spent 10 weeks in there learning to walk and look after myself

The Day I was to go home from REHAB had a minor hiccup and had to go back to the Austin for another 2 weeks.

So 32 weeks I was in Hospital and another 10 weeks after that was recovering at home

All in All 42 Weeks off work....................

Last saturday i went out on the drink with a friend.

At about 1am i started feeling very sore in the stomach. Felt like cramps.

ignored it on sunday, ignored EXTREME pain on monday, Tuesday i could barely walk but i still got dressed and went to work. Was there for about an hour and i couldnt cope, went to the doc.

Went to the doc, doc did some tests and put a piece of paper in my hand and said go to the hospital, emergency department and give them that.

Apendicitis. :( fek me im sore.

They didnt end up removing the damn thing either, because i had gone through it all on sunday, monday and tuesday. ??? they put me on antibiotics and kept me overnight.

Still recovering, still in pain. cant WAIT to get back to selling cars tommorow

about 3 days. food poisoning. 1st and only time, about 2 years ago. i feel sick just thinking about it.

i had the measles when i was about 10, and that had me off school for a few days, but i think this thread is more work related.

I don't know what it is was, but it had only come about after i had eaten prawns at a friend's house, [im not allergic to seafood]

Lasted about 5 days. Couldn't eat anything or drink anything, if i did i'd bring it back up. and i was either sweating bad or shaking because i was cold.

dad took me to the doctors on about the 4th day, had a blood test, everything was fine except my iron levels were a bit low.

it was really odd.
