Ratt, Those figures you provided say Ford is down 0.9%, Holden up 1.7% etc. Is that compared to last month or June last year or YTD?

Kluger is not made here. They have considered it, but no word as yet. Since it's off the same Camry/Aurion platform could make sense to do it.

Therefore Toyota locally built sales are only 3311. Put another way, only 17% of their total sales are locals, 83% are imports. By comparison, Ford sells 62% local, just 38% imports.

Clearly 6162 Ford sales is at the plant capacity. They will most probably have to up the line rate from 260 (thanks Barraxr8!) as that limits output to 6000/month.

Falcon - 3410 Commodore - 4748

Amazing !!

That's a huge difference......I kinda thought that breach may have closed somewhat now that the FG has been out for a while and most people are aware of the crash safety ratings and dynamic advantages the Falc has over the Commodore...........

1700-odd of those Commodore sales were sportwagons...hence my query about how many Falcon wagons were sold (to get an idea of sedan v sedan sales)

Fair nuff..........add 1249 for terri to the falc figures and you get 4669.......very close but still no cigar.........

Its also worthy to note that Terri sales are static wheras I reckon the Commodore wagon sales will increase over the months.

Why? Craptiva isn't built off the Commodore platform, nor does it share parts or R&D.

Well if you want to look at it that way, I was more looking from a brand perspective.

Also good to see the cruze doing so well, test drove one of these last week and will be buying one for my grandmother. It's a fantastic little car and behaves very well, but I'll be waiting for the 1.4 turbo to replace the N/A 1.8.

Speaking of 1.4 turbo's, I just purchased myself a 118tsi golf supercharged turbocharged and intercooled. What a little rocket, and only uses 6.2L/100k's and with its second to none build quality.... I'm sure we'll see these creep up the V facts chart a bit, even with it prestige price premium.

look all you want. The territory put the death nail in the Ford wagon, and stole sales from the sedan....as Holden is seeing in a lower amount with their wagon stealing sales from the sedan.

When you consider that ford hasnt discounted like holden it probably took more money than holden.

Captiva is korean designed and built stoney, so it shouldnt be counted against australian made and designed competition(i think thats the toopic of that particular conversation

It was in this link to GoAuto which is on the 2nd page. http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...2575E8000CC687

Toyota’s Aurion sales were 36.2 per cent down in June to 1628, representing a 15.0 per cent share of the big-six segment, with Honda’s Accord well behind on 745 sales and Nissan’s Maxima being some 426.2 per cent up on June 2008 with 321 sales. Launch stocks of Skoda’s new Superb out-numbered a total of four Grandeurs sold by Hyundai.

So, about 6200 a month. Give or take. Essentially Ford sold as many as they made.

Apart from the $35,990 driveaway XR6 sedan deal, haven't noticed any other promos by Ford. Hopefully, that translates into a solid profit!

Is there anything to stop Ford from upping the daily rate anytime soon? Would upping the line rate affect quality? GMH make 310 cars a day (when they are making them), but their quality isn't up to the standard set by FG.

I'm sure we'll see more Golf's being sold. Very good car. The 6.2L/100km economy is good too. But, just as Wheels said this month, it's good until you realise that it requires 98 octane. So, with the purchase of 98 usually 13-20cpl more (i buy it for the Falcon with my tune), it cost's you the same as 7.0L/100km anyway...

As for the Korean built Cruze, that rated 4th in that same Wheels test. Behind the Golf, Mazda3 & Focus. If your happy to buy a lesser car for more money than Focus... I'd be waiting for the 1.4L turbo too. The new Focus will arrive around not long after anyway with similar / better tech. So, wait that extra bit.

Reckon there will be a reasonable carry over. Certainly hope so! If Ford are contemplating overtime to build more cars, than you would say that 3000 plus a month could be here to stay. More importantly, the sales are profitable.
