1984 Ford Laser. Parents gave it to me. Crashed it into everything, it ended up going to a panel shop where they took the engine out to put into a straight bodied laser to use as a courtesy car.
Never really had it serviced, and it just never failed me. Just kept going and going. |

first car was a eb ghia... fing good first car...
now my brother drives it... and i fear it will go down the drain... shouldnt have sold it... no real problems, except that resulted from my own stupidity and a landcruiser... but no problems here, all the modern luxuries now taken for granted... climate control, cruise, trip meter, leather/cloth inserts, lsd, power windows, mirrors, auto lights, "self levelling suspension" apparently... but i think that was a bit how you going... cant complain anywhere here... and like new paint... |

My first wheels, was a 5 speed, 2.0 Litre, rear wheel drive, Mazda 121 Coupe, red in colour. Paid $1500 on road for it in 95. Went ok, but brakes no good, boot leaked, suspension stuffed, windows wouldn't wind down. Gear box and motor fine, just had to carry plenty of spare fuses for fuel pump. The carby needed a rebuild too. Traded it in a year later for a EF2 Futura and got $1000 from Rex!!

1983 Camira SLX wagon with 5 speed manual. Folks bought it for me back in 1991 for $3500. It actually wasn't too bad to drive providing you kept the revs up! but it was a bit of a dog though, with the usual camira probs - dashlights went, rear brake calipers siezed, head gasket & the heater leaked! Sold it to buy a 280ZX

What: 1989 Ford Corsair Ghia
When: Bought in 2000 How Much: $6500 + then $5000 for new computer and transmission God or Dog?: God... I was 17, had power windows, air con that worked and the 2.4L 4 cylinder was a ripper at the lights. What more could I ask for in a first car? Favourite Story: Flailing Toilet Paper from the back windows in front of my mates Camira en route to New Years party in Bremer Bay... we were so immature back then. :

My first car......... a good condition EA S-pack factory manual and multipoint, only 139,000 km's, which I got a few weeks ago :P
Anyways, I bought a different diff for it (3.9 ratio, locked ) got HEAPS of second hand tyres lined up for it. So it'll end up being one of those mint cars that went to a P plater in the end.

i had a good old 85 ZL fairlane injected 250 came with 65,000 kays when i was 15 (im now 22) it was in immaculate cond. not a mark inside had small imperfections on the outside great paint after a polish.. it was and old couples car only drove it to shops and church owned it since new garaged all its life.... i got it and lowered it extractors exhaust 12 slots (chrome) had it as spare car when i bought my Ebxr6.. sold eb xr6 had TE50 series 1 sold that and went back to the ZL put AU xr8 wheels on it, system in it and drove around with plans to turbo it and paint it make it something really different and quick but money was a problem Hence the sale of the TE50 sold the ZL for $2800 and bought my sprint which is for sale now. i loved my old fairlane a mate had a ZK at the time as well same style as mine lowered with zorst and xtractors we both would love to get fairlanes again and go to town on them and do them in the style of Daves XF MR 0250 e.g 20s, turbo mad paint but funds never allow its a real shame coz it would certainly be very different and cool...

Learnt to drive in ZH Fairlane.. Huuuuge... didnt go round corners. but intimidating and clumsy for a L plater and early P plater. That was my dads car, but i used to drive it heaps.
http://www.geocities.com/falconfacts...eltd/zhp6.html My first car that I owned and paid for was a KC laser 5 speed 5 door - loved thrashing that baby.. great fun car! Identical to this..same colour even http://www.fordlaser.com/showpic.php?image_id=6750 sold that after few years for a KH 5 speed 5 door.. wa...good.. yeh shoud of kept the KC but http://www.fordlaser.com/showpic.php?image_id=12012 Then i got a povo pack Magna wagon.. roomy sluggy slushy $h!tbox, but it was a COMPANY CAR! flogged it till it died. EL GLi wagon good, tusty rugged workhorse, did 300,000Km worry free in it, till some young idiot in a 4WD rear ended me at traffic lights. bent it near in two. Now I gots a BA SR.... I love it! My first car was a Pearl Green 1988 EA Falcon
My parents gave it to me not long after I turned 18 when I got a part-time job. It was an absolute God! The perfect first car. It only ever let me down once when it busted the fan belt and I had to have it towed to the mechanics. When I got it, it already had colour coded bumpers, red striping and a ED XR lower bumper extension on the front. I lowered it, added a CD player and subs, clear indicators and got a set of EL GT replicas on it back in the day before every second E-series had them. I also converted it from CFI to MPI. That car was bloody awesome and I should never have sold it in favour of a VS Berlina. My brother has owned it for nearly the last two years. In that time he has replaced the 3 speed with a T5 and given the EL GTs back to me to put on my EL. Just last week he ran a 16.4 at Heathcote. Not bad for a 400,000k+ stock EA. I really wish I still had some pics of it. Our computer crapped itself this week and we lost all the files on it :(

My first car was a VR Commodore which I owned for about 18 months :. Yes, I was young and naive... :MrT_anim:
Cost me $5000, and about another $800 to get it roadworthy. Then I went onto mods... CD Player, Alloys, Lowering... and that's as far as it went until I realised there's no point spending heaps of $$$ on a $5k car. Actually, looking back I guess I spent too much on it as it was. A little while after that I started putting away some money for a new car. I came to my senses and realised Ford offered a much better product, and thus went looking for a BA around Christmas '05. One thing led to another and I then found myself at a Ford dealer trading in the VR for $4500 and sliding into a BA Fairmont just in time for Christmas. How's that for a nice Christmas pressie :. I don't miss the VR at all any more and am now in love with my BA. Here's a few pics... |
