They could be dressed up as Frank N Furter for all I care but then again I’ve never bothered popping a vein over cyclists as I see just as many car drivers doing silly things and getting away with it and it’s a car that will cause me more damage than a cyclist ever will. |

All the guys want a piece of frank! Still the most attractive male I've seen outside of Thailand! Quote:
They don't annoy me enough to do anything other than make these posts on a forum like this but still good to see the rules are being enforced for cyclists too |

If I do I know I'll violate site T&C's. Plus everyone will want to scoop out their eyes out with a spoon

I cycle in a club as well as do motorsport.
Lycra serves its purpose. 1. It's comfortable especially when you sweat. has padding in it for over 100km trips. 2. Its usually bright so as to be seen by motorist(not to throw mcdonalds at) 3. I guess it is Aerodynamic, I'm not a pro cyclist or a lance wantabee but I do enjoy the exersize and I do share the road as I would in a car. 4. My *** looks fat and sexy lol While you cant knock people off there bikes I don't condone going through red lights, as for helmets.. well I cycled in the 80's without them just fine. |

Great to see a little humour creep into this thread...
Rather than the usual "lycra vs cage" crap! Onya Shav

I rode motorbikes in the late 60's 70's without a helmet and survived. Would I do it now if it was legal? No!

Maybe their cafe end point doesn't open until later. To me it looks more about the ride to the cafe than anything else. I used to ride a 200ks a week, by myself for exercise not so i didn't feel guilty about have a jumbo vanilla soy latte.

Successful interaction on the roads between any vehicle types is simply a matter of mutual respect and predictable behaviour. That said though I'm a shorts and tshirt kind of rider who has ridden since before equal rights because a thing. I give cars a wide berth, respect their size and speed and dynamics and the need for roads to operate efficiently for these big lumbering things before my own needs. Lycra should be compulsory for the ladies but I reckon you blokes are a little soft around the edges and should keep your cods to yourself. (Tongue in cheek to be completely clear)

They are going to put a Cycleway on Upper Dawson Rd, Rockhampton , this year..As it is now, I have to cross the centre line to go around them, as they ride 2-3 abreast. This will make things worse...Stupid Govco...

Guess what people, you can be in the right all you want but you're the one who ends up in the cemetary if you get hit if you're on a pushy or motorbike, so you might as well as use your one chance to be careful, you're playing with probability when you start doing things like running red lights. One of my customers had a bad accident on Mt Macedon when he hit a pothole come off the bike at speed and hit his head, he had all his gear on but he ended up off work for 6 months, he is still a space cake from the accident, he is working now but he doesn't seem to be the same person anymore so something has happened up there. |

A recent UK case resulted in a cyclist being jailed for twelve months after jumping a red light, knocking down a nine-year-old girl and leaving the scene. The cyclist collided with the girl at—what eyewitnesses estimated to be—a speed of 40km/h after he failed to stop at the red light, and she stepped out onto the pedestrian crossing. The judge told the cyclist that he was the only one to blame for the "incredibly selfish criminal act" after the cyclist admitted to a charge of causing grievous bodily harm. |
