Found this link on the web from the UK: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...deo_spied.html

Seems the car has been out and about getting some road time. Looks pretty much like the Fusion pics from the USA.

At least it appears it is going to happen.

See pics below from the website

Looks like the wipers go from the centre up instead of side to side. Makes life easier when going from right to left hand drive.

Looks the goods.

Looks tougher than the current models I reckon. More of an evolution of the current design than something brand new. Looks a bit more muscular.

How long do we think after the sedan till we see the wagon variants in the country? I'd highly consider one, but has to be a wagon... :/

There's not much talk online about the wagon version just yet?

That depends on production. Australia is a small market and our needs depends on what the European & UK volumes are consuming, being a so called new model it may well be in demand for the first 6 months going on by what has happen in the past which suits me.I prefer to wait a further 6 months so the bugs are sorted out

Perhaps Ford are waiting for the falcon to pass away due to natural causes rather than putting it out of it's misery, so are delaying the Mondeo release to allow this to happen. This creates a much bigger Australian market for the Mondeo to thrive within.

The three month delay has been announced in Europe as well so it is not related to the Australian market.

Translation of an article in German on autobild.de here with some pics as well. link http://www.autobild.de/artikel/neuer...g-3520895.html

Note the rego plate is yellow blue colour which means it is probably in Belgium where they are manufactured.
The car looks fantastic in my opinion. Hope the interior lives up to expectations following the beautiful body shape.

"At its launch early 2012 at the Detroit Motor Show the Ford Fusion scored with powerful design and high-quality workmanship. Interesting therefore, because the Fusion corresponds to 80 percent to the new 2013 Mondeo, the balance of power in the middle class in Europe will be turned on its head. Exactly this new Mondeo is captured now before the lens of our German photographers. The pictures show: the bold design of the American sister model remains in Europe. Not only at first glance the new Mondeo dares with its outward appearance, very exciting for a mid-sized sedan. When we look closer: the front is very distinctive, encompassed by the narrowed lights and the highly detailed hood giving a pronounced self-confidence. This fits the handsome cooler opening from its upper corners two arcs hook up in the A-pillars.

In profile the dynamic continues. The curved roof line due to the flat C-pillars flows in one piece to the tight rear boot line. The counter-rotating grooves cleverly conceal the lush dimensions, after all, the Mondeo is almost 4.90 meters long. Following the trend, the exterior mirrors sit on the door edge. And the rear? Looks sharp and well proportioned. The exhaust is elegantly integrated into the rear apron. The tail lights blend in the profile and give a integrated finish to the sedan. Sedan? The Ford designers with these exciting curves will certainly be compared with those of various other Coupes. Respect for the courage to launch the new generation so dynamically."

I was fully aware is not related to the Australian market. The point is the MC will have to carry over till well into 2013 if there is no further delay unless of course we get an upgraded MD to fill in the gap especially when everyone should know by then there is this new model in the background puts Ford Oz in a difficult spot. There is nothing wrong with my MA so I can wait but others may not be able to

The new Mazda6 will incorporate all of the Takeri’s technologies, including its more aerodynamic ‘Kodo’ body design, its 100kg-lighter SKYACTIV chassis and its SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre twin-stage turbodiesel engine with new SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission and fuel-saving idle-stop system – as seen in the upcoming CX-5, but this time incorporating Mazda’s new Mazda’s new low-compression 2.2-litre ‘clean’ diesel with six-speed auto, i-stop and i-ELOOP – plus a lighter new body – is expected to reduce the Six’s combined fuel consumption to a Toyota Camry Hybrid-beating 4.2L/100km.
This is what Ford is up against

Hello Apstar, my comment was in relation to that from Ian B, not yours but the delay will certainly not help Ford's market situation with all competition releasing updated models over the next few months.

Despite Australia’s medium-car segment growing 26.7 per cent so far in 2012, Mondeo sales are down 24.3 per cent, slipping from 3419 units to 2587 after the first six months of the year. The Mondeo has dropped to fourth in its class behind the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord Euro and the Mazda6 as its share of the market has fallen from 12.6 per cent to 7.5 per cent.
Just think what a delay would add to those figures!!

CD4 production delays for Europe are associated with quality control and production engineering issues. Although the way Ford of Europe is going at the moment and with some of the messages coming from Dearborn, there may not be an assembly plant to obtain Mondeos from unless some restructuring occurs...much like here...

soon we will only be able to get chinese cars along with everything else we buy and they will hold a monopoly on that too. Our cost of living is pricing us out of the market and out of jobs.

Looks like there more delays to the next model release
"Ford Australia’s Sinead Phipps told CarAdvice continuing hold-ups at the Mondeo’s European production plant in Genk, Belgium mean the blue oval’s all-new medium car is now only an outside chance to arrive here in late-2013, and will most likely join the line-up during the first half of 2014."
http://www.caradvice.com.au/188466/f...ustralia-2014/

That will probably push it beyond the end of my lease, I've been eyeing off the new Renualt Sport RS265 anyway........

So....if Oz sales delayed due to production delays at Genk, does that mean there will be a Mondeo supply gap in Oz sales? (i.e. old model finished, new model 6 months away)

The only way out to keep sales up to 2014 is to do a MD an in between model soley on specs upgrade, because the Fusion is now out and that's also assuming there is NO further delays, how many MC Ford has in stock well that is the gamble Ford has to take
