The wing on the EBGT was only for looks, it did not have to perform. That is the difference between a homoglation race car and a sports car

VN's have plenty of advantages. They were the quickest of all the holden 5 litres due to their weight. They had a live axel not the crappy IRS of the later ones. The V8 heads had heaps of meat in them to allow for big porting. Simply they are a no bull light weight beast of a car that in manual form are as quick as a GEN3 or BOSS with the basic bolt ons

my brother had a 5 litre VP excecutive Auto, i don't know what it had done to it but you could put your foot flat to the floor (on bitumen) it kicked back to first and smoked the back tyres.
He no longer has it now as the cops put about 20 defects on it. ****y things like wobbly seat or grease oozing from a belljoint rubber. pathetic |

The VN Group A were probably the closest in philosophy to the Sprint.
Both were well engineered and done for a purpose, not some plastic fantastic showboat. Suspension, engine, drivetrain were all markedly different, and researched too. Remember at the time the VN Group A was the second fastest 4 door GM product worldwide. Only behind the Vauxhall Lotus Carlton Turbo Super Dooper Speed Machine.
