school pledge maybe before my time for I don't recall reciting it but God Save The Queen was the anthem back in the day before we got our woeful own anthems that still need to be redone imo for its so dreary ho hum.

OH&S was do the right thing, listen what you've been taught and follow, be alert ask if your not sure.
Fire drill meetings haha was gtfo you idiot and think of others to follow the lead, you didn't need to be told and congregate at or on X outside - ofcourse your gonna get far enough away outside is pure common sense, oh hang your not meant to use that today because we've trained people they are idiots.
HR Dept was interviews with the Boss/owner or next in charge.
Meetings got action within days instead of one dept to another needs to review over a minor bs question and get back to you next schduled meet in 2 or 4wks time lol......

On the walk back home with your school mates, stop at a fish and chip shop, get a chico roll, some seafood sticks and chips, and still have left over pocket money to play street fighter 2 on the arcade machine.

Hitchhiking. Old enough here, to have thumbed rides, one memorably with a grazier in FJ40 ute complete with gun behind the seats and ammo sitting on the dash.

Ivan, Walter and Richard pretty much nixed those adventures for everyone.

Remember when you could sit with your mates on stools at the bar at the pub, ashtrays also on said bar. Sink schooies then after 5 or 6 the one mate who is the lightweight goes to stand up to go to the toilet but stacks it because they haven't had to get up for beers or walk outside for darts?

…….not opt out of drinking the free milk delivered to primary school in small bottles. It would be sitting for a while in crates in the hot sun and then you had to drink it under the watchful eye of the teacher.

I remember the blue boxes with the flash sitting proudly in front of the operator's Australian built vehicle on the roadside. Then they started getting sneaky by using slightly smaller blue boxes with the little flash.
I didn't take long for our Honourable members to make a whole new industry for the infringement enforcement agency.

Remember that well and being diagnosed as lactose intolerant a short time later. (Nice one public education system)

Park at a scenic spot in a panel van and not get hassled by the cops.

Yep, the original Chiko poster with the chick sitting on the Vincent motorcycle, most fish n chips shops would have these posters on their shop walls back in the day.

Think I still have one put away somewhere.

Put dog poo in a brown paper bag, leave it at someone's front door, knock on front door, light the bag then bolt................

Put 20 cents in a pinball machine or red pay phone with cotton sticky taped to the 20 cents. Hours and hours of fun and at the end, most times you could retrieve the 20 cents...........

Then getting to school early to catch a bus to a sports carnival in another town and seeing a dog ****ing on the milk crate and suspecting it did that every day. And living on dairy farm more less fresh milk was the last thing I needed. I am now milk protein intolerant probably from over-exposure.

Well it was certainly much more reliable last century especially before the 90's. I can go back to the 1950's with this.
