Oh, muthaf---! Ouch dude, I realise she was written off, but didn't think it'd be that bad, being a tough e-series and all :( Good luck with the X-series ;)

Did it bend the chassis rails, as the damage looks like SFA!! I punched a sigma in the side enough to rip through the passanger side chassis and bust the crossmember in my EA and it still wasnt written off.

I needed to get a photo of the engine bay. Pretty much the whole front of the car was shortened about 10 cms. Note where the side of the engine bay has buckled. I couldn't get the radiator or fans out (fans were in a million pieces), had to chop the rad support. The horns and air con drier was about all that was infront of the condenser, the rest was flat with it. Also look at the front of the RHS chassis rail, it's mashed flat.
I was told it'd be about $2000 to straighten out, that's with me supplying all panels, stripping it myself and not even including paint. In the end it wasn't really worth it, and I wouldn't want to drive a car around I've pranged that badly. And Damo, you don't need to see the XE GL, it's a crapper! I only got it cos it's alright mechanically, was going to slap some paint on it and drive it round looking for a car, then I found the XD. The GL hasn't moved since and doesn't run at the moment. |
