I'm old school too. For me tough cars should have a mean, nose down, attitude. Helped even more if it's created by a bit of rubber rake (you kiddies can google that one).

My theory on this latest nose in the air, bum dragging on the ground look has to do with the current fashion craze of airbags and big bling dub rims. Mix the two together and the rear can air down much further than the front, especially if you still want to steer. Before long this is what people start to see at shows where cars are driven like the Summernats and some try to copy the look in their everyday streeter. Dumb!

Looks stupid (IMHO) and when the next craze will comes along they will all look back and laugh while they try and duplicate the next big thing.

I did it for a bit of fun (I used to own the EL pictured), and regardless of whether you like it or not, it got a lot of attention (and no, not all negative).

As i said. Personal preference. I wouldn't keep a daily that low, the thing was stupid to drive. At the time it was a weekender, so I didn't care about what it's drive was like.

at the end of the day, it all depends on what style the car is ... Muscle/old school the back looks insane lower but classy all low!

in modern cars it has to sit all level ... other wise with a lowered rear it looks too commodorish (not anything wrong with that)

lower in the rear is the best by far, makes the car look so much more cruzier..

While both cars look great - I much rather the stance on the XC and think the XB would look soooo much better sitting even 1" lower in the front (2" would be perfect).

My car will be dropped about another inch, its still in roadworthy-inspection mode.. but it will always sit lower in the rear
I think the XC needs to be dropped in the rear, so it sits atleast level.

Looking at the pics of your car it looks to be sitting level respective to the floor pan/sills? this is a good example of how the rear wheel arches are placed lower on the car in comparison to the front.

i think a lot of people lower the car, then pile a heap of audio gear in the boot and dont compensate for it.
i prefer the front to be slightly lower.

this is my EA from a few years ago with pedders 65mm drop all round

I do alot of Rasing 4wd suspensions.I dont know exactly how it relates to sedan type vehicles. But, as far as the 4wd world goes the only reason it would be lower in the the rear than the front is if its incorrectly setup for weight they are carrying, and/or the exisint suspension is shagged. As I read in a few earlier posts that theres many factors that you need to consider when choosing suspension.

I carnt come up with any logical reason as to why the front should or would be higher. Unless its for a differnt look and style. and maybe some sort of race track stratergy? not sure on that one.

My vote though is for front slightly lower. thats if im got a boat or towing. if not putting much load in, Dead level for a daily driver.

At first i had my XY slighter higher at the back and it looked shocking with convo pro's on it so now the rear sits lower than the front...

If i had more modern wheels on the car (EG FR19s) then the stance would change to level

My car sits slightly higher in the back in stock form. Most sets of lowering springs however lower the back a half inch or so more to equalize it a bit.

See the pic below to see what I mean. By the way, the pic is at a funny angle and the car looks way lower in the front than it actually is.

Lowering springs and 18" x 9.5" wheels coming in the spring by the way!

Love the mustangs. Post up pics when you have the new rims and springs fitted.

You'll have most of the aussie boys drooling. lol

Thanks. Just wish I could've sprung for a GT500 though.

Have they ever imported a Mustang model to Australia?

Trust me I know it needs to be lowered. That particular pic makes it look much worse than it actually is though. Check out a thread titled "introduction" for a few more pics.

A GT500 would be very nice indeed.

There are companys in australia that specialise in importing mustangs here and converting them to right hand drive, very expensive operation though.

They've imported a couple but you pay premium price for them, therefore you rarely ever see one on the road. I live near a Ford dealer and when they had the previous model Stang there, it was more expensive than our local GT model.

Spent 2 weeks on a training course in Mass. last year and some inconsiderate person parked their current model red Stang in the parking lot. I think I spent 2/3 of my classroom time drooling over the Stang and 1/3 of it asleep. :P
