This is not about a five year old riding a motorcycle where she shouldn't have been thats what started it. It's about her smart **** dad who gave the police some back chat. The local inspector when interviewed said the police where going to let them off with a caution but after a little banter from S/A they used their discretion and the weight of the law.As you guys often say ,if you play you pay, well he's not laughing now is he. Good on the boys in blue they cop enough s__t form various offenders .He even let fly at the mayor who was trying to calm the situation. Throw petrol on a fire and you will get burned.

You should punish it perhaps by spending it, no cash no travel:-) Quote:
I guess the man was simply incredulous 'at the situation', and hence the flames on his part? Did the mayor simply parrot vis; under Clause 2A of the LGA's Parks and Public Places Act, little girls can go to hell? Yes, bow before your local government masters civilian dogs, praise those in such lofty, elite positions of 'power' such as the Aussie town mayor, give no lip boi! IF however the man owns and drives a Commodore; all bets off, we'll take his house too, you'll see. Wonder if this will make ACA or TT? Last edited by Keepleft; 16-08-2009 at 03:13 PM. |

and was she driving it at stupid hours i hate people who complain about noise . i can understand it if it were night time or early morning, but its not hurting anyone. on topic though i agree the law is the law. it can be dangerous and blagh blagh but seriously a warning would have been sufficient. its not like she was riding a 250 like a lunatic weaving in and out of kids flying kites and flicking dirt and gravel up at them Last edited by Ross-b; 16-08-2009 at 03:27 PM. |

And as other's have written here: if the father had not failed the attitude test - then the outcome may have been different.

it seems that one thing has been forgotten - must have been forgotten because no one here is ever ignorant
the frankston council has had a war on unregistered motor bikes for a couple of years now. i do not have one, but know that if i did and rode it illegally, it would be taken off me. with those rules in place, why is the council or police at fault |

With some of the responses here it is easy to see why there are noise abatement laws and why they are enforced rigorously.

thats not acceptable (and not because of the noise levels) but thats not the case here. it was 1 little girl being supervised. get the father on the other offences he supposedly did. dont confiscate someone elses property for something so minor theyve effectively taken candy from a baby then bragged about it |

The parent's are responsible for what she does as they are supervising sure, and I know that a pee wee does not emit a great deal of noise but as I stated before, where does it stop? The next weekend you have the park full of pee wee's zooming around. I myself live in a semi-rural area and when I was her age I had a Honda 70cc trike that I used to belt around a public reserve that surrounded a lake and had a walking track, the next thing...all my mates and all the other kid's in the area decided to do the same thing...see where this is going? No, there's a time and, more importantly: a place and I am sure that the father was perfectly coherent enough to be able to find another place for her to ride a motorbike...a public park is not that place and I will not be swayed on that belief.

All fun and games until someone else wants to use the park at the same time.
We have a few kids (young teenagers) that ride a 4 wheel motor bike up and down the foot path. Which is fine, Except for the cars parked on the foot paths that they are zooming in between. And lets not forget (heaven forbid) you want to reverse out of your own drive way, or walk your own dog along the same footpath......

I would say there are 2 problems ..... both lack of brains from the parents. 1: The dad let the kid ride a motor bike (Doesn't matter what size) in a public reserve. Police responded and said to stop 2: The dad had a bit too much to say so the bike was removed. Thats really it. Give too much lip and suffer the consequences. Unfortunately the 5 year old got caught up in they hype but stiff. If he just said "Fair enough" and walked away ...... end of story and no one would have heard about it. It happens everyday with police having to parent parents rather than what most here would consider more important stuff. | [/url] |
