ok insurance is all done.. should get the car back monday.

now what i ask is do i get another bf 2 xr8 in breese and Finish it how it was meant to be. the green pokey mobile.

or

do i get an fg xr8 lux and tech packs and finish that... will cost more but would it be worth it? keeping it in mind breese is no longer available and most of the other colours are pox in my oppinion.

also is there a decent tail shaft fix? concidering it will be on bags lol

if i went the bf option there will almost be enough money left over for a blower...

Mate sorry to see, was a real beauty too.

Personally I would go an FG, newer car, and better in every way.

So did you end up getting the amount you wanted?? or just 40K?

What are you going to do with the wreck? I'm assuming you bought it back

Same thing happened to my bosses BA wagon company car, pretty scary cause the garage was under the house, she got a commodore after that happened.

Cool, how many kms has the motor done?? Any issues, noises etc etc?

Looking at the photos there is not much left up the top of the motor. What is usable and how much did you want for it?

40,000 klm oil done at 1000klm, 5000klm, 15000, 25000, 35000, motor was very strong,

basically everything up top should be taken condition unknown, injectors may be salvageable as with the alternator. it would just need the loom replaced TB ect and you would be right to go

i believe that $3500 is reasonable for a long motor

there has been some negative feed back with FG UTES AND AIR BAGS !!! do a search here . there is a thread about broken chassis rails which FORD wont cover under warranty due to the air bags being fitted .

suss it out mate . dont want to hear any more bad news .
i think it was a tray top though . may be the same or differant , i dont know , but worth checking out .

I'm not sure mate, but if ya lucky maybe they've started putting the revised tailshafts in builds from now, doubt it, but hey ya never know ;)

The herrod leaf springs are getting some good feedback and no tailshafts breaking guessing you getting another ute then eh?

that fg bending its chassis is a combination of errors, mostly to do with the giflight body only being mounted in 4 places not 6 like most units. and it is loaded all the time... my ute is a toy

I spoke to Rob on monday and his springs wont suit my needs.. dw customs are now going to sort it out when it goes in for the install. any idea if a BF tailshaft would fit??
