SLS was also fitted on EA Ghias, but most ended up not working so people replaced the rear suspension with aftermarket items.

Sport/Normal suspension modes were also on the first AR Telstar TX5 Ghias.

On my Kia, you can lock the car while doors are open, and once the last door closes, all the doors lock... so if your keys are inside.... bad luck...

That being said... I do like the feature, aa I can get out the car, lock the doors while the Mrs is getting the young ones out the back... and race into Bunnings, instead of waiting for the entourage to get out - lol

Yeah I'm one of the whingers actually. To be fair those lights (I think they were the same units as the ones in the XRs) were tiny. The ones you see now are much bigger.

Being able to lock the car with the keys in the ignition and engine still running (EF/EL) - faulty central locking.. Adding to that cylcling door locks (EF/EL).

But seriously:
The choice of 2 different capacity 6 cylinder engines - XK(?) to EA.
High beam switch on the floor - finished at XA dunno when it started.
Column shift manual - When did that end? XF, or was it XC?
Column shift auto - I assume that ended with BA?
Fold down arm rest/table with built in cup holders in the centre of the back seat - was in the XF dunno when it started or finished.

Thats all I can think of for now

To me that was bloody annoying when changing front discs. Most new discs don't have the cups for the wheel bearings so compared to a 20-30 minute job on an AU or BA, it can take up to an hour on the EA-EL models just to change the front brakes.

Nah, I definitely disagree. That wheezing lethargic note that eminated from the car while it took near a full second to lock used to embarrass me when I had my EF. Like a robotic fart.

The new click sounds MUCH more efficient, and less prone to failure.

Its only available on the 4+5 speeds im pretty sure not 5+6. theres no real point to it tho cuz u would still struggle to get 3 ppl across it.

I LOVE my door lock sounds on my fairlane haha it means i dont need a beep from the alarm to know its locked :P

Really? Wasen't the S in a circle the speedminder feature? or has that been scrapped. I know EF to AU had it.

most people just completely replaced the rear struts with standard ones. My car has had the compressor removed and there is a valve in the boot that u just put a tyre gauge on and it jacks the back end of the car up like 10cms or so. if i come across another compressor i reckon i will refit it just for fun haha.

i do believe none of the falcons have service reminders. (never had to reset one while working at Ford) it will be a speed alert thingy.

Also i just remembered. those stupid chair height adjusters that are like a ratchet on E series falcons and NA/C fairlanes. mine broke.

What about cylinder de-activation in the AU range of straight sixes? It have not heard any mention of this on the B and FG series.

Yeah they did. From (I believe) EF - AUI. It was a picture of a spanner which showed on the odometer.

The S in a circle is a speed alarm.

Front electric window switches finally going from the centre console back to the doors (with driver's door having all the buttons for the 2/4 electric windows) starting with the AU.
I remember that they were on the driver and passenger doors back in the XF Fairmont Ghia & ZL Fairlane days, but then they went back to the centre again.
I see Holden still has theirs in the centre. It's much nicer having them on the doors.

I also DO NOT miss the umbrella handbrake.

Deleting the lock buttons/snib (I dunno what it's called) off the passenger and rear doors was a negative. It makes it very hard to lock the car if the battery is flat.
I recently found this out the hard way a few months ago when I had a flat battery.

The interior command centre (starting with the BA) was a bad thing I reckon. I don't like having the stereo and air-con etc. all integrated. Plus, it was so much easier to install an after-market stereo before then.

Also, it's weird to think that the current base model Falcon and even going back to the BA, are more equipped than the older late 80's early 90's Fairmont Ghias & Fairlanes.

My... how times change. Apologies if my post was a bit long.
