Fine to discuss things if a question has been placed but if you state your own opinion in the opening statement knowing that it will be the cause of not just a discussion but an argument .... and one that clearly shows they do not understand the mindset of anyone who mods cars ...... sets themselves up instantly to be ridiculed. How can anyone not be negative when the only reason some of these topics exist is to push buttons and to get a (heated) reaction? Some people are great at doing this ........ Dont answer that ..... it was rhetorical.

Im 21 years old and have owned to this date 10 cars, 3 of which i still own. I wont say how much ive spent on cars, but i could have put down a deposit on a house by now. Having said that, the AU im putting up for sale shortly and im aiming to put a deposit on a house within 5 years now
My Fairlane is special to me. I one day aim to restore it. Why? Cos i think its special and thats all i need! Sure ill never get the time or money back but hey, whats money if you can't spend it!

The point is this thread is silly.
In someone elses eyes there will always be people spending too much on something. Weather it be some BA Turbo owner thinking someone with an AU should just trade up instead of spending money on their car, or with any brand/type of car not just the falcon. Weather it be any hobbies/Interests for that matter. There will always be someone judging what other people are spending their money on and come to the conclusion that "They are spending too much". Just because they wouldnt spend that amount of money on that particular object. . . . . . .Which is exactly wrong with the world. If some people spent alot of their time not worry about others they might get alot more done in a day. Lifes to short to worry about other peoples decisions/lifestyle choices.

It's not the subject that is the problem, but rather the pattern in which such threads get created by the OP. All you need to do is look at the post history and the intent in their posts to draw your own conclusion.
Usually you can see a pattern or tone in which a thread gets started. Unfortunately threads like this mostly (not all) have a hidden agenda to increase post count, cause division or be highly subjective/argumentative for the sake of their own boredom or pleasure. Some just thrive on causing drama under the thin guise of creating an open topic for discussion. The biggest give away is usually what is written and how it's written in the first post. Use your own discretion to determine if it's worth responding to.

Look at the participation level, even you gave your 2 cents worth..
noone was killed, no personal insults, a bit of a pub debate about whos right and wrong.. a little light hearted car jest. probably included more people in one thread participate than most the other threads today?? After a hard day at work, take the edge off a little.. maybe to suit you... next friday ill start a what exhaust sounds better on an au, 2.5 inch or 3 inch.. or should I paint my dark argents silver or shadow chrome? Who wants to see that? Enjoy your weekend... try not to think about work... (or overcapitalising on your car) |

HULK_I6T is a very effective troll, does it with pure art. Causes arguments while never saying a harsh word directly aimed at one person and plays the 'victim' well.
