Good advertisement for the guy who doesn't want to sell his car but the wife has put pressure on him to at least try

Surprised it was allowed, plus the whole campaign was set up like a V8 Supercar round - business as usual, - they'd just raced there the previous month, were at the pointy end of the season with all the pit-stops and culture etc down pat.
At the time, i considered it extremely ****y and definitely not within the spirit of a fair 24Hr contest, i.e. an international 24hr event.

Some would say its still not worth it, but for the only car sold to the public, i'd still buy it
I'd want to buy it unregistered to save the $25k stamp duty bill

Some people are happy having the same car as 3000 other people. I am not ;)

Doesn't matter though, when i looked a few days ago it had been taken down and/or sold.

It's only done six hundred kilometers from new.

I don't think it's a typo but I don't like his chances of getting his asking price.

It's still a Woolies Monaro, go to any Woolies & you'll see 2 or 3 of them in the car park.
HK's are real Monaro's.

Since it's a Brock car, does it come with an energy polarizer?

Those molecules need aligning.

As a Monaro owner, I say this is just another good car that has been modified up by a hotrodder. Can't see how it can be HDT vehicle, even if PB waved his magic wand at it.

What are your throughts on the late model commodores (VE etc) being referred to as HDTs with full HDT club accrediation? Likewise VS, VR, VP HDTs? When do you stop counting them?

This could open up a can of worms, debate, abuse and contradictions ! ( Disclaimer - The following is personal opinions only.)

“Some say” that the V2 –VZ Monaros were not real Monaros ( because they didn’t race as production cars at Bathurst ), but having been the owner of an ‘old’ Monaro and the current owner of a ‘new’ Monaro, I disagree. They are 2 door versions of the 4 door sedan, simples.
BA - FG Falcon GT owners, would you take offence from XT - XY GT owners saying that your cars are not worthy ?

Being about the same age as PB, and having been a fan since when his A30/179 was more famous than its driver, I think that during PB’s last few years, he was willing to put his name to anything that would promote/preserve his legendary status. The controversy over which is the genuine 1984 ‘05’ Bathurst winner is an example of that.
I don’t begrudge that, he earned it, why not milk it ?

HDT ceased to be in 1988 when PB was declared bankrupt, and it was sold off, the last cars being the VLs. I’m vaguely aware of some cars ( VTs ? not the VEs ) being produced later wearing HDT badges, but don’t know their heritage or production ownership.
Peter Champion’s reincarnation of HDT since 2007, does have a personal link to PB, and I am sure that their VEs are desirable and competent, but like a ‘tribute’ rock band ( Elvis, Johnny Cash, Beatles, Abba, Queen etc ) they may be good, but they are not the originals.
Are the current Beach Boys, Little River Band and AC/DC line-ups still genuine ?
Will ‘Holden’ be more relevant and iconic after 2018 than Toyota, Kia, Mahindra ...... ?

I can’t see how a 2005 Monaro can be any more than a Monaro with a list of improvements recommended and endorsed by PB.

Never heard of this Targa Tasmania spec Monaro.
Originally they built 6 T3 Targa Monaro's, 4 race cars and 2 road cars (1x Portifino blue for Peter Brock and 1x Flame Red for Trevor Young owner of Biante Model cars).
They were all built by Greg Stevenson of The Monaro Performance Centre in Vic.
They were all V2 CV8's never used VZ's.
They didn't change the shocks from Bilstein to Edelbrock until the 2004 Targa Tasmania so this must have been built at a later date to the original 6 cars.
Not sure what HDT would have to do with it, maybe they stamped their badges on it and just fitted the same modifications as used on the Targa Spec models.
As for the price, not even the actual race cars or Peter Brocks personal road version would be worth anywhere near that.
$25k-$30k worth of mods on an as new VZ Monaro doesn't equal $350K.
Good luck to him though..........
