Good decent performance. Your kidding me. 0-100 in 12 seconds. That's what a base falcon could do 40 years ago with 3 speed manual not 6. And then you start hauling 3.5 tonne. That sounds exciting!! Decent is the last word to describe it.

Its like having ABS brakes and having a roo jump out in front of you, the ABS works fine until you panic swerve into oncoming traffic... The ad's back in the day showed how easy it was to steer around an obstacle in a controlled environment but they didn't show what would happen when there was a truck coming the other way. |

I don't there's any safety system for people that swerve into oncoming traffic, so best not to do that...
F150 Trailer sway, non animated for reference. this stuff works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrpowvtn0d8

They're both still controlled conditions where the driver was aware of what was about to happen and both sways were induced by the driver, that's not the tail wagging the dog in real world situations is it.
In a real world emergency, drivers typically mash the brakes, in days gone by you were told to accelerate out of a sway but saying it and reacting in that way are two very different things in the moment. |

Advertising driver aids simply entices the driver to believing that when **** hits the fan the vehicle will magically take control, but that doesn't allow for what the driver may do. I would hazard a guess and say that if a driver were to mash the brakes in a sudden unexpected event, the full application of the brakes would override the alternate braking application that the anti sway system provides. You simply cannot ignore the human factor which is why people towing combined weights of over 4.5t should have proper training as a truck driver is required to do. |

But that's the thing, your opinion is not representative of those buyers today,
they are the people choosing with their wallets and car companies are following their wishes. +14,000 Mustang in less than two years while the Falcon mafia was praying it would fail, it just goes to show that when you try new thing sometimes they work..... Good for you, I too am living in the past with a V8 Falcon.
I just accept the reality that my tastes and preferences are no longer mainstream and for those buying a new Ford it's either Ranger, Mustang or one of the other SUVs. |

haha mate you are a hardcore that's for sure! 5 falcons!
I bought a new Ranger and its great. Id never have bought a new Falcon so I suppose I'm a statistic as well. I've had no issues with the Ranger and the quality and fit seems to be as good or better than any falcon Maybe they aren't all that bad, and aren't heaps of junk and you just have a soft spot for Falcons and are probably disappointed they don't make them anymore.

[a third of AFF members] I hate the Ranger because my Falcon XR6 is quieter, quicker and has smoother suspension.
Therefore Falcon=Good Ranger=Bad because I said so. My needs and wants are all anyone should care about [/a third of AFF members] |

Since Jan 2016, Ford Aus has definitely sold over 14,000 Mustangs and still has enough inventory to get to 15,000 by year's end.. |

what did you want to know?
the chart is correct. 4x2 sells about 10% of total ranger sales. same with hilux. the 4x2's just aren't popular for whatever reason. they are more popular in other brands than ranger though. if you look only at 4x4 sales, ranger has been smashing the competition for many months, if not years. |

You would think they would have more sales considering pricing and iirc most 4x4 sold never go off road??? Can't tow as much maybe?

I bet most Falcon ute owners never use the ute to it's full capability. I bet there wouldn't be anyone on this forum whinging about that. |

0-100 specs. were they ever relevant in the real world when it came to selling cars?
just like the tow ratings these days. just marketing for pub bragging rights. |

I applaud Ford for the effort they was put into developing Ranger here in Australia and for supporting it in the market place, it's taken quite a while but Ranger shows that toyota can be beaten. I hope that acts as a catalyst for more models that people in the market want to buy, Ford needs new kinds of products. |
