Better keep it on the new Supra hey?...

Apparently a Journo drove the new BMW Z4 and the new Supra and they felt totally different to drive.

There are reports that BMW and Toyota engineers had input into the engine, and during development Toyota engineers underwent reliability tests on the engine, and constantly sent parts back to BMW to re-engineer parts to Toyota standards. Once this was done, the engine was signed off by BMW to which Toyota further developed the drivetrain to their liking to finally produce the new Supra. It is also made in Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz, Austria.

F150? HAHA are you serious? That thing is as desparate as their shareholder's, and just as cheap.

Any idea?
Go and drive a Fiesta ST.
Performance focus is far from dead, only tread? GTFO, again, go and drive one.

You sound like a disgruntled falcon owner.

Ford GT, most companies have a hero car this is it.

Exactly the GT is an example of what Ford can achieve, they only sell them for $450K USD to approved buyers, they enter a contract where they cannot just sell them.
I read an article where John Cena beached the contract and sold his off for 1.7 million USD.

..sorry way off topic

Saw a comment saying that the 1JZ Soarer was like a 2JZ Supra with a suit and tie. Not surprised in the similarities in sound with supra DNA.

Well the Soarer was the answer to the SL Merc just like the LS was to the S Class. It's funny the updated 1JZ might of got close to the emission targets, as it survived for quite a few years as a NA engine. But who knows.....

Certainly not having a go at your Soarer with 1JZ as it has pretty awesome stats for a 90's car, but this Supra does have more power

Pretty sure it's come to the end of its life span that's why, not cause they are dumping it. New focus st is coming too don't forget.

Details of the next generation M3 are being released by BMW. 480hp for the standard M3 and 510 when ordered with the comp pack. I wonder if these engines will make their way into the Supra.

https://www.carsales.com.au/editoria...-supra-118556/

Plus on-roads means it's a $110k car in top guise.

Must admit, in the link above it does look good (for the most part) in white with the gloss black wheels.

But why oh why do modern cars skimp on brakes! Rear brakes are now single piston sliding calipers in most (including a $250k E63s or a $300k Audi RS6!). At least the Italians aren't skimping!!

What's the tech level between the two like I wonder? I imagine the Toyota has a lot more bells and whistles?

Put a 2.7 or 3.0 ecoboost in a mustang and that would certainly change things.
But its not just about power, I'm sure the Supra is more refined etc.

Exactly. Power is nothing if it doesn't go around corners.
Refined is not a word associated with Mustang.
