Sorry BD / OThers, the AU. OK next rounds of mods i see most being updated to BAF which then the above will apply.

For the rest i see those with XR and T series bringing them back to original or better quality upgrade such as brakes etc, and maybe a few ferral Au's thrown in the mix.

The Bulge was a big deal and not sure if its been mentioned.

Iv seen kids spray paint those small cheap fire extinguishers, cover them in Nos and NX stickers and mount thing in boot installs. Hiding the parts that will naturally give them away.

It's ok Doc, we forgive you. We all know and understand your hate for people who misuse parts like bulges and body kits and stripes on non fpv's. But I think your in the wrong thread as a majority of AU owners do this sort of thing.

In some respects, now I have my new car, it's exactley how I want it, so no bling mods for me. But if someone decided to stick an XR5 kit onto their stock model Focus, it wont bother me. They want it, they can do it. It won't effect resale of my vehicle and if they want to do it, then cool. Its a free a world.

Bucky yep i should be more gentle, but i dont hate people or what they do, that would be using the wrong words, all i see happening today is a McDonalds ( fast food whip in whip out ) approach used by many of the newer people in modding their cars, Old school when you built a tough coupe for example there were no ( fast food ) parts or approaches, you built a tough streeter, that was just that.

I see many people now that just grab a part be a front bumper, a badge, bulge, spoiler, stripes or whatever all of the shelf and go Wow look at my car, and yes they are nice and many people waffle on nice, ra de rady, but to me they are just plain boring, any one can with a few bucks put these lego bits together.

In that amongst it all there are some treasures where people have done a great Job, these people have not followed the trend's and gone more out side of the square and i just hope more people put a bit of themselves into their next mod rather than a Macca's style upgrade, these upgrades are now really common and boring. ( Flame suit on )

I dont think stripes have ever been a mass fad on the AU's. A few people have done a few different types but really its been minimal overall.

Who knows Casper. Maybe the popularity of the stripes will be for people to put GT stripes on their AU. Anything to upset the purists I say is always entertaining.

Maybe.
Personally I've always liked the cobra style stripes you, Firefox and Jim have done. That said though I still have yet to see it turn into a huge "fad" with the AU's like some of the other things.

I'll also say that these fads are not bad things at all. They generally improve the AU breed and thats a good thing.

I like the overbody stripes. It all comes down to modding your car to suit your personal tastes.

It's not going to be a fad, but i think soon we will see a resurgence of manual I6's. Both in the popularity and in the timeslip department

The stripe packs on all cars mentioned are very good, it's not so much the mod being done ie stripes it is how that mod is done and having that mod fit with the theme of the car.

I'll go off now, (sorry to mix threads up) and stir up the B series boys with their macca's mods, that should get the dust flying
