Whether I like it or not is irrelevant in this case, I am just stating the obvious, that if it had a Ford badge on it, opinions would change in a flash and it would suddenly be the best thing since sliced bread.

its comments like this from both sides that make me want to get out of the Ford/Holden world.

The rediculous one-eyedness just seems to get worse and worse with each generation.

I think I'll buy an Alfa.

Even if this thing had a ford badge on it i would still say that it is ugly. Looks all out of proportion imo. Assembled from spare parts bins of other car companies.

And is it just me or do those Holden badges keep getting bigger and bigger?? looks like a damn frisbee :nutsycuck

colour is correct, just the different angles and the type of paint, look at the Ford Territory at different angles it gets the same effect of un-matched paint.

Yeah I agree with that, the official interior shots were very impressive, these look average at best.

Mind you the cp cars that are released for testing normally go through utter hell and often use inferior materials to save on cost, I have some photos of a ba fe vehicle and it looked like crap inside, the official release was of much better quality. I saw a blue ss over the weekend and it looked great, I saw an omega on the eastern freeway and it looked bland. Can't wait to drive one for a real test.

I just bought the Wheels magazine and saw some of the photos and I can't fault the car in the looks department. The Holden people responsibile for the design were clearly saying they were aiming to make a BMW for under 35K and visually, thats the case. Whether the quality has improved from the mess known as the Opel series of Commonwhores is yet to be determined and I for one hope it is world class. My 2c

You are right! This has been the smartest comment yet. If it is something close to world class for its price, then guess how the Orion will end up. It has often been said before that one pushes the other.

i couldnt help but be a smartass last night but i do think that the VE has dated the BA-BF alot but the falcons wont lose any sales. I think the VE will bring some buyers back to the large cars because there seems to be a lot of focus on quality. but then again i havent seen it in person so i dont know yet.

I was just about to post that very same comment. On the 'normal' models (ie non crazy-sports oriented) the super flared guards look utterly rediculous.

Infact, I reckon the SS would look just as silly front on to be honest.

Looks like a mix of the current Hyundai Sonata and Mitsu 380 ... and a lot of styling cues from the Falcon as well.

Looks like it's a bitza car ... nothing revolutionary about it.

Agree

If it keeps people in jobs and Ford on its toes, then it has to be a good thing.

Can't wait to see one in the flesh so I can judge it for myself.
Hopefully it will be a good car all round and hopefully ford will make something better!

For those do gooders thinking that everyone is one eyed, we bagged (and contiinue to until they are rusted out) AU's; so dont jump so fast.

/waits for an AU owner to take it personally

If something looks like crap, then we should be able to say it without someone sooking about being "one eyed". There are plenty of good looking holdens out there. But the VE does not live up to its hype, and price tag.

Atleast the AU was differet, made people think, VE blends in with the rest.
