But you're Eastern aren't you?

I also think it's the other way round. Most of the money is East, the West is the least financially flush with funds.

Studies of Melbourne's growth have shown that as people became more financial, the money trail went East!

People moved from the inner city and West to the Eastern suburbs. The inner city buildings that the people (now financially set up) didn't want were very often bought by hard working migrant families. The richer lot didn't much want to be around them and so moved.

Now who owns the inner city blocks? Funny the way things cycle isn't it?
