I have managed lately to reduce my wash times ... but that's just better products ... and cleaning them while they aren't so dirty really.

but definitely comes down to technique though.

Used to always take just over 2 hours to do a car (when they were dirtier).
I can get it done in under 1.5 hours per car pretty much now (Territory right on the dot 1.5 hours).

ah yes the when can I make the time to wash etc between juggling wife/kids/house to do's/sport commitments etc......
Been a challenge over the years, more so when the Dragon lady says we are going out or advise's the social calender of X dates taken up lol....
I worked out long ago - its early morns, I mean crack of dawn OR instead of being on the couch after dinner those times I'm out there in peace and quiet.
No heat, wife is happy watching what she wants and the kids now older is no issue anymore.
Daylight savings is brilliant as mentioned.
Some years ago some fellow forumites used to come over Friday or Saturday nights being like minded.
We'd be in my garage till early hours of the morning, was a great time detailing the T3 back then.

Hats off to our Aff DFB detailing product recommendations.
Keep at it mate you save us a lot of searching time

The Black beast hardly gets out so like DFB it’s mostly dust on the beast and he’s never used when rain is on the forecast and being a garage king more than use whatever wax’s etc I put on are hardly worn from the weather.
It had a coat of 845 couple of months ago again another product I tried thanks to DFB today was just a snow bomb engine clean and wash - followed by a quick blow down then dried down with Bead Maker.
Results says it all to me

You can hardly tell there’s a Sprint stripe bottom of the doors.

My supreme pleasure to help.

And happy that my extreme spending on products has saved someone a few dollars in the trial and error process for others.

How did you find the initial application of Bead Maker? It can be a little finicky to begin with but becomes much easier to work with afterwards. I do believe that has a lot to do with the base layer protection though, and it seems Collinite 845 and Bead Maker play well together.

DFB, using Bead Maker first time I actually didn’t find it finicky at all.
Having read the instructions says can be used whilst paint is still wet - I thought that’s a good tip - i got my blower and just blew off the excess but still leaving the each panel wet.
I got my Bowden big green towel, sprayed BM on panel and dried up each panel a time.
Being semi wet made the process quite easy tbh.
Oh from previous posts it was the first wash I didn’t use 2 bucket method.
Snow bombed very thick section at time, once wiped down then hosed off, start process again.
Sure was easier quicker than 2bucket But as mentioned Sprint is never very dirty.

Haha prydey been sometime since we last saw each other at the testing grounds.
Can I say getting older wiser but still ugly lol

NV Clarity and CarPro Eraser are generally classed as prep sprays but these two products both serve dual roles.

As prep sprays, these two are used prior to and after polishing. Using a prep spray removes any lingering polishing oils, important for when accessing the paint and preparing for a coating, sealant or wax. You will often see Sandro from Car Craft wiping a car down with a prep spray prior to commencing the polishing stage, this allows the user to see completely bare paint, helpful for when selecting a pad and polish compound. After polishing, a prep spray is then used again to access the result with clarity but also ensuring a correct bond with the intended protection product.

Both of these products have an alcohol base, with a formulation designed to efficiently lift then remove and evaporate off any impurities. In the past, IPA solutions were used for this role however as improvements have been made, it has been found that IPA solutions on their own evaporate too quickly to have the desired affect of removing oils.

So, due to their alcohol base, Clarity and Eraser double as excellent glass cleaners, leaving a streak free and smooth finish. That means you can have two products in one. Having said that, I still have four other glass cleaners sitting on my shelf.

Is eraser different to something like general wax and grease remover? I've been using wax and grease remover from bunnings to clean up areas prior to buffing and touch ups.

Eraser smells 10x better than wax and grease remover

My understanding is that wax and grease remover works pretty much the same, happy to be told differently though. I only IPA wipe after polishing. If im doing a new coat of sealant or wax i'll always do a strip wash beforehand, rather then washing normally and applying product over the top of what may be left on the paint.

Seems that the Natty's coloured waxes have dyes, so there's a chance it will tint white, so rules that one out.

I was going to say there is a white tinted Natty's but it looks to be sold out.

I don't think you will be unhappy with anything Collinite. Although it's very important to apply 915 as thinly as possible.

Don't rule out Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, although not a wax, it's exceptional for ease of application.

Looks good. What's the lifespan of the Wolfgang? I've had the Collinite 476 still showing hydrophobia after a year.

Been tossing up Soft 99 Fusso as well. I understand it's not quite as glossy as some of the other choices, but seems to even outlast the Collinite 476.

You should get 4 - 6 months out of DGPS. If you are topping it as you have hinted earlier, 6+ should be doable. I get 12+ on the garage queens.

It seemed to do well in this test. Lost to the 476 on durability, but beat the 915, and similar to the 845.

I still have a bit of 476 left, so that might be going on the wife's car if whatever I choose looks better on mine.

After almost 30yrs of basic bucket and sponge/mit washing i too have been shown the light of foam cannon pre soaking.
Inlaws bought some of those danoz direct tv special 2 for 1 deals and gave me one.
Was about as useful as tits on a bull but it gave me the bug so i went pressure washer shopping and picked up a Gerni car care kit with cannon, adjustable nozzles, chassis fitting and a few others.

Have only tried it with some cheapie product, Armour All ceramic foam but i like it so i'll soon be ordering some quality gear.

Not sure what the gerni cannon is like but they are generally not as good as those made by specialist car wash companies.

I have the bowdens own one, which is pretty good. The bowdens own snow job I have found foams up well but doesn't actually do much unless your car is barely dirty I recently bought some NV snow from waxit and that performed much better. The car was obviously cleaner after just the snow foam soak. If your car was only dusty or mildly dirty it would do as a one step wash.

Having said all that, I have noticed the neck of my bowdens snow cannon bottle is all but snapped off. I've never dropped it so not sure if I over tightened it one time. Very annoying as not sure I can buy the bottle separately.

I have the large Gerni 3600, works great BUT at the time I didn't buy their snow/cannon bottle for I have the Bowden one.
prydey interesting your take on Bowdens snow to NV.
Even though NV products are more my pref today I found the Bowden snow very foamy, maybe you haven't adjusted your nosel right for the thick foam release ???
