Well just for comparison here in Singapore the cheapest i've seen is 98 for S$2.59 = A$2.74 and diesel was S$1.83 = A$1.94, depending on which currency converter your using....

Filled up this morning 1am on the way home from work. Diesel 126.9

Car said my tank was 80% full but at that price I squeezed in every last drop I could.

The dozen stations before were around 144-154 cpl.

Wish I had some Jerry cans with me!

Can you explain why taxis are so cheap in Singapore? something I was surprised about when we've been there

Especially with the initial out lay of a car plus certificates & registration fees

I imagine servicing wouldn't be cheap either

I guess but I assume we probably spend more time on the roads compared to our European cousins with their public transport networks and short distances with their postage stamp sized countries.

I do a 120km+ daily commute to work and back, I generally do 700-1000km/week depending on what I do on the weekend.

Drivers rent the cabs. Also the government would probably make it cheaper as Rego is restricted.

Pretty much as vztrt said above, i also asked one of the locals at work and he said the Gov are strict on regulating the cost to keep it down because so many people rely on them..

Everything about buying and running a car here is hugely expensive compared to Australia and is out of reach for a lot of people, but the big elephant in the room at the moment is Singapore's ban on introducing new cars after Feb 18, i think it would be 24/7 gridlock if everyone that was old enough to have a licence owned a car.....

I think they did get some backlash regarding exactly that. I guess they see it as a toy rather than a disposable item.

Now Woolies is doing mini pot plants...

I paid 1.66 last week so made sure to top it up. Apparently Scomo is trying to make a deal to tap US reserves.

Yep, lucky my other car a Renault sport Megane GT only slurps down @6L/100.
Its older bigger brother in the garage the BFGT is in the naughty corner with no driving privileges til 98 RON gets to @ 1.60 again. At 22L/100 and 1.92 per litre it’s insane....

Not quite. The storage pressure for CNG is much higher. The tanks have much thicker walls & are heaps heavier.

To re-fill CNG is much slower. I remember one I knew of where he attached the car to a pump in his own garage & re-filled it overnight.

None of the existing LPG infrastructure is suitable. An additional "huge array of charging stations" is what would be required for CNG.

I'm a big fan of LPG, I believe Holden & Ford & the Aussie LPG industry did it better than elsewhere in the world & we have heaps of it.
