Agreed. Sucks about no lip spoiler as it looks like a base model with someone fitting larger wheels. The lip spoiler really made the G6ET in the FG model from the rear and 3/4 view.

I was thinking that with the one I spotted in Geelong the other day but I only got a quick look but looking at that pic

I say ford au are trying to convince us that the stang is the way to go

I for one love the look I hope i might be in the position to get a new xr8 when they come out

From what i can tell, the FG-X is a marketing tool to convince people to buy what's coming next. As Jason said, when you see the XR from the front, in particular the XR8, it says "buy a mustang soon please" and from the rear it says "Your next car is the Ford Fusion/Mondeo". "see you in a year or so".

It explains why i can't mentally match the styling of the back of the car to the front.

Yes but I was going a little deeper into the meaning than that. I'd get one but have other aspirations at the moment.

So why do they have the turbo badge on the xr6 turbo? Should've just had the red 6 for that and no turbo badge

There was an earlier pic with with an XR6 Turbo badge on the boot.It was likened to the bagde that was worn by the VL Turbo.

These pics prove one thing for me. In future press release photos, real cars should be used regardless of cost. The G series looks very average in the press photos but the above pics look magic! The chrome really stands out amd add an extra dimension to the design...

VF got there first.....check it against GM's global styling cues. Seems both camps are playing the same card with their final looks, THOUGH, arguably, FG2 was already on it's way.......

I wouldn't call that totally accurate. Those windows aren't even from a Falcon and the bootlid looks about an inch short to my eyes. 3/4 panel to rear bumper join is also off.

You are right, it's not 100%, some of the shut lines are rounded off, like outer edge of head lamp into frnt 3/4 panel. but overall, I thought it was a better representation of the profile than some of other profile photoshops.

Saw a gold XR6 Turbo on hume hwy last week. Definitely has a turbo badge on the RHS bottom of the boot lid. Sorry, no pics, think the driver was in a hurry

I think the G6E doesn't have a Turbo badge only the red 'E' for a 'neater' look. That was their reason before for not having a Falcon badge on the FG MKII.

And XR6 Turbo would have the 'Turbo' badge for a 'sportier' look.

I think they should just leave it with the red 6 no need for a turbo badge

Not sure how a turbo badge makes it look more "sportier"
