Thanks XBV8mmm!

Spoke to my dealer and he thought he had called me. Was able to secure a Smoke in Auto, but he had to call around the Queensland network to secure one.

So if you are thinking about getting one, get in now. The autos have predetermined colors but you can choose the manual. Delivery should be before Christmas, and the next batch a few months later.

I personally think fg1 was the pinnacle of Falcon styling. They went a little downhill with fg2... with fgx they tumbled off the cliff.

I agree everyone has different opinions. After seeing one in the flesh, the front is pretty average. Too pointy and flat. It is very lancer like, and for those who say it's nothing alike, wait till u see it in the flesh

I agree the FG is better looks-wise than the FG II and FGX though.

EF/EL Ghia with sunroof and tickford kit and BA/BF in FPV form are both equal pinnacles in modern Ford Aus styling. Both models eclipsed Commodore in their respective model runs so that certainly says something

. Imagine if Ford went from EL in '97 straight to BA in '98. The FG/X should have been a retro styled model for a proper tribute and sendoff, instead of Ford Global styling. Who else here will cease to be a Ford new-vehicle customer once Falcon is finished?

Likely to assume that the chrome 'vent' that is on the higher spec cars is the same as the mondeo as well...

Close but they're actually different. It's suprising given they could have saved development costs by using the mondeo ones with a similar end result.

Agreed though I'd take the XR in E series.. I'm more likely to not buy any new vehicle for a long time. A falcon revival would get me keen again that's about it.

I think it will all come together by the 50th km. there are aspects of the XR8 that once driven will make u forget anything bad previously thought.
One thing is for sure that exterior is an FGX not a FG3. Good or bad it looks nothing like the one before it externally.
A near identical exterior with a majorly updated interior, a FG3? Than I would be jumping on the disappointed ford bashing bandwagon.
The only thing that can disappoint me now is Ford playing the limited supply high price card!

I think it looks neat. The FE Holden was the 1st Australian car with a large letter box type grill and it's been used on many cars over the years in different designs.

They are painted.

Similar to the last of the BFIIs.

It's actually a trend now. Have a look at the new HSVs.

Not sure if it's been posted yet but i'll post it up for anyone who hasn't seen the black hoodlining in the XR's yet. New leather seat trim too.

Black headlining looks great. May be the first thing that is sold from wrecks. Was always something I disliked in my xr8

The negativity used to bug me on this thread, reading the same bull**** comments ****in n moanin bout the same ****. Overall it's a good thread with some good knowledge shared by some people in the know.

Looks the goods mate seats look great. Half your luck joyriding an XR6T, what difference stood out the most on first drive?
