Some of the main roads in northern Sydney are steadily quietening down. I’ve still only heard of one motorist having their motives interrogated, and I suspect there was prior reason (driving like a **** in a new BMW) for the attention he received.

There are benefits in driving a tradie ute with tradie junk on the passenger floor and a tape measure on the seat... Always working.

Very quiet here. Not that I am on the roads very much. Kind of reminds me of Xmas day with the small amount of traffic. Only difference is that you then don't see the cars congregating together at some houses as you would on Xmas day.

And I noticed a lot more people out walking and riding their bikes yesterday. Yesterday was a beautiful day here (23 degrees) and today is cooler and wet, so maybe people were making the most of the good weather. Don't blame them.

Still amazes me as to how many aren't observing the 1.5m separation requirement. Especially those in the late teens to mid 20s age bracket.

i think going for a drive , or motorbike should be allowed. i like checking out the southern highlands nsw, exter, bowral etc. by car, its so picturesque. i also like a motr bike ride too. now ,wheres the harm in all that?
i wouldn,t like a copper busting my chops and getting a $1000 fine, in the past i,ve been on the receiving end of uptight ocd cops, and its ridiculous.

i,m lucky , i,m on acreage, however, many aren,t , getting out for a drive goes towards good mental health!

The issue they have with it is thinking people will stop and buy petrol, food etc. And then potentially be exposed to it.

I work a few shifts in the Sydney CBD and have a direct view of Pitt st at street level while on the job.

The place is a bloody ghost town at night after around 6pm when those that have gone to work have left.

Coles still very busy and have adjusted their opening hours but most stores closed with notices on the window and very few people out and about.

Should take a video for future reference.

China just doing their usual thing...

Quote:
Wuhan doctor who was among the first to alert other medics to the spread of coronavirus 'goes missing' amid fears she has been detained for speaking out

A Wuhan doctor who was among the first to alert other medics to the spread of coronavirus has disappeared sparking concerns that she has been detained, reports suggest.

Dr Ai Fen said she faced 'unprecedented, extremely harsh reprimanded' by officials at Wuhan Central Hospital after she shared a picture of a patient report labelled 'SARS coronavirus'.

The image was widely circulated and made its way to whistle-blower Li Wenliang who raised the alarm about the bug, which has killed more than 41,000 people worldwide.

Dr Li was reprimanded by authorities for 'illegally spreading untruthful information online'.

Dr Ai gave an interview to a Chinese magazine criticising the hospital's management for dismissing the early warnings of the coronavirus but has not been seen since, 60 Minutes Australia reported.

After the show's investigation aired, a post on the doctor's Weibo account - a social media platform similar to Twitter - shared a picture with the caption: 'A river. A bridge. A road. A clock chime,' RFA reports.

Her rumoured disappearance comes after criticism was levvied at the Chinese government for lying and covering up key information during virtually every stage of its coronavirus response.

Beijing initially tried to cover up the outbreak by punishing medics who discovered it, denying it could spread person-to-person and delaying a lockdown of affected regions - meaning early opportunities to control the spread were lost.

Then, once the virus began spreading, the Communist Party began censoring public information about it and spread disinformation overseas - including suggesting that US troops could have been the initial carriers.

Even now, prominent politicians have warned that infection and death totals being reported by the regime are likely to be wrong - with locals in the epicenter of Wuhan suggesting the true tolls could be ten times higher.

Fatality rate starting to creep up now, expect it to get worse, many people on ventilators that won't survive extubation when the time comes.
Read a piece supposedly written by a frontline doctor in the US that said 84% of ventilated patients don't survive extubation as the lungs are beyond supporting normal function and the elderly can only be ventilated for so long before it introduces additional complications, not good at all.

So even with the restrictions in the SUpermarkets are you guys seeing a slow reduction in available stock? Coles frozen shelves were looking slim today.

Big time.

Pasta, sugar, flour, paper towels, toilet paper, antibacterial hand wash, antibacterial wipes and detol / disinfectant is still near impossible to get.

We are a family of 6 and the restrictions are a PIA as we have to now shop multiple times during the week....I understand they want to cut bulk buying but surely I can flash the medicare card and prove its not all for myself.

Its just interesting, all this chat about food supplies being fine but the distribution channels must be struggling?

That's actually not a bad idea.

I'm sure no body would be offended if you were asked to provide ID and a medicare card to prove the qty of family members they are buying for.

I'm also buying for my family as well as a few elderly people and have to buy stuff then put it in the car then return to buy more.

One pimple faced 15 year old tried to pull me up for doing that with toilet paper.... Asked me if I had just been in 5 minuted before to buy the same item. I said no, but then again it's 1 per transaction so who are they to play SJW when in actual fact I'm following their own rules.

Quick shop in Coles inner Brisbane this morning:

Zero eggs (this store has been without eggs since Sunday)
Red Meat 50% stocked
Poultry 25% stocked
Bacon 80% stocked
Someone with a sense of humour stocked all the pasta section with only linguini
Tinned tomato and sauces depleted
Tinned Veg 40% stocked
Mexican Taco's and spices ok
Rice depleted
Noodles mostly gone
Zero TP
Bread is ok
Dairy/Milk is ok
Fruit and Veg ok (but prices have gone up)
Deli is ok
Zero liquid soaps and only a few hard soaps
Ice cream section 40% stocked
Bottled and fresh olives available again

Overall not very busy within the shopping centre as most of the other specialty shops closed
Most cafes and fast food outlets closed
50% of checkouts manned and zero wait time

The checkout Nazi who abused me on Sunday for incorrect trolley unloading was nowhere to be seen

Just go to Aldi mate, they have a can limit of 10 cans for each type and not many restrictions on other things. Woolies and Coles is a pain, never shop there. We go through 12 cans of tomatos, 12 cans of cannellini beans, bulk fruit and veg etc etc each week, Aldi is where it's at.

Lucky here in Canberra, when I went to Costco and Aldi yesterday everything was stocked and barely any people around, got everything i needed for another two weeks.

Maybe the hoarders have too much food here and have started using it

yeah, i just had the same thought about the medicare card.

maybe the pollies don,t understand, because you now have to
go shopping 3,4 times a week, your now exposing yourself and your family (cause they will catch it from the shopper) to a lot greater chance of getting the chinese flu. go figure?? its not rocket science, just show the medicare card, start a big family register, there got to be a better way.
hey, but don,t run along a beach by yourself.

good luck with it.
