It certainly has some angles that are awkward, but then it has just as many that are pretty awesome. I think the FG XR8 is a more balanced design but the X is obviously far more modern.

Sometimes it's squared off nose looks funny against the curvy middle section...that's about it.

Still can't believe there is no G8E, would have been nice as a GTE replacement...also many potential old Fairmont Ghia V8 owners may have coughed up for a last chance.

That's what its about! they are your next buyers. you don't get that watching tennis or AFL, so when your making up your minds on weather or not to sponsor the race teams go and have a look at that little boy, because he was me 45 years ago. I buy Fords and always will.

While im at it, do any of the guys on here from Ford know if the instrument cluster is different apart from the dials, reason I ask is I fitted an FPV to my FG and I like having the oil temp and psi. all it took was changing the oil sender to a oil pressure unit and a reset at a Ford dealer. I even have a guy who changes the facia to read XR.

The bimodal is controlled (by the PCM?) in the following way.

1. Open at idle (which the car in the youtube above was)
2. Closed at light acceleration until X revs (seems to be about 4k somewhere).
3. Open when you nail it 100% of the time.

Of course the easiest thing to do is disconnect the hose (which I just did about 2 hours ago on mine) and it sounds awesome 100% of the time under light acceleration.
Bimodal control is vacuum supply from the rear entry behind the throttle body. GS ute is plugged from factory

This DJR car did a few laps around the track. There was also a couple of other FGX XR8's around the mountain too:

I saw Ch7 footage of the XR8 twice during the coverage, both times it wasn't shown with dedicated sound as the commentary team were talking about it. Looked good, given the appalling bitrate and quality of the 576i SD broadcast :/

Now that I've seen pictures of the new Mondeo the shape of the FG X Falcon was deliberately styled as it is to soften up Australian buyers for the Falcon replacement, Mondeo. Look at both and judge yourself.

Global design language is something Ford have been implementing since the XA.

Maybe the XD Falcon was secretly styled to prepare Australia for a possible invasion of the European MkII Ford Granada.....

Yeah last night I was watching footage from Saturday and they show the car going round the track with Frosty driving. Larko has a chat with Frosty about the car with the car parked in the background in pitlane. It was a good pitch as Larko loves his Fords.

Is this dude on here?

"Mark Turrant 1 week ago

+CarAdvice.com.au The XR8 lived up to my expectations. I have just placed a deposit at a Melbourne Dealer and got one one for well under 50g - another reason not to buy from those Sydney rip off dealers!"

Off a youtube video done by CarAdvice....note the "well under 50g" comment?

Surely the dealer has done something dodgy here? Or perhaps its under 50k + onroads?

That's the old Ford Fusion. Now replaced with the CD4 Fusion.

Checking my pics and stuff from Bathurst, i did take a very brief clip of Frosty driving up the pit straight, once again didnt have my good mic onboard, so the sound isnt that flash.
