The Figo was based on the WP Fiesta and is just a restyled WP Fiesta really.

Falcon front won't look anything like it.

This is on the Support The 2014 Falcon FB page .
Hey today someone showed me something on the internet n apparently ford showcased the new falcon yesterday or the day before in red. Looked good n they said it will be released in October this year. Didn't say a exact date just October. I know you can't trust everything on the internet but it seemed convincing.
My Comment : Is this true ??

I doubt they would depart from the very effective in-glass aerial system. That roof aerial is probably just a temporary back to base communications aerial, similar to motorsport applications.

I think you'll find the opposite, and Falcon Sedan goes to a roof mounted aerial.

Ive never had an issue with the in-glass aerial with the BA or FG. Why are they going roof-mounted!?!??

External antenna could also be an indicator of DAB+ in the new Falcon.

If that is the case then it will be a very good thing. Regular FM vs DAB+ is like comparing regular FM vs AM.

DAB+ would be good ,only capital cities have DAB+..Holden Pandora/Stitcher better idea, if you have a good mobile plan. Holden said " they have to keep bee sting aerial for Pandora etc" Rockhampton has applied for DAB, up to Tony!!!

Radio reception has been a big issue since the release of the BA; compounded by window tint (even if non metallised).

Really? My BA and BF have never had any issues with reception all over brisbane, gold coast, ipswich, sunshine coast, glass house mountains...

Only black spot I think was a spot in between Toowoomba and Jandowae

Compared to our WT Fiesta... fuzzy reception pretty much everywhere outside of CBD areas.

That's great that people are having "no problems", but there are many who do and it was well-known upon the release.

Personally, I like the sleeker look of an in-glass antenna and never listen to the radio anyway.

However, as with the FG ute, that's quite likely what the new sedan will have.

The FG product brochure has the antenna on the roof on all of the cars, yet as we are aware it never made into production. Why its there on the test car, time will tell.

Personally out of the changes one would like, I wish they would allow the drivers seat to go lower than its low point.

Side Note: No issues with reception in either of the FG's I have owned.

No issues with reception in the BA or FG, except in a certain spot on the Cumberland hwy on 96.1 where it seems to mix in with an Arabic station of some sort.

In any case, who really cares if the antennae is on the outside or not? Its hardly a make or break detail that will stop people from buying it.

In my BF when I turn the rear de-mister on, the reception gets a lot of interference and makes it hard to hear the radio clearly. At least it isn't located in the same spot as the Mustangs (rear right side), that sticks out like you know what.

My Wife's FG XR6 does the same. It is like someone is winding the Volume up and down constantly.

My BA GT does the same. You can't listen to FM with the demister on.

Looks like antenna is confirmed then and a shark fin on the higher models.

The obsession with oversize lower grilles is disappointing though. FGII looks odd compared to the original FG.
