2 separate places, 2 cool cars. So heading out i heard it well before i saw it. A mazda r100. So super loud rotor in it.
Later on, coming the opposite way a 4 door 57 chev wagon. So not a nomad, pretty sure the nomads were all 2 door wagons.

An hour or so ago: HQ Kingswood wagon; I think it was on full reg; not looking like a show queen, just something in every day use. (in the Peoples' Democratic Socialist Republic of North Fitzroy)

There's only one reason for leaving the foon at hoome and thats for someone going out committing crimes, how many cartons of smokes you manage to knock off?

On topic, saw an XM Falcon out my way today coming out from metro Melbourne, was a nice blue colour and looked to be in good condition, no pictures unfortunately.

Today, Bacchus Marsh railway station, I saw the Ka again; she must put it in the same parking bay all the time; I say 'she' because the personalised plate suggests that.

At Melton station: a later version of the air-cooled Beetle.

(The old [closed] wrecker's yard is till there, quite close to the Bacchus Marsh station; the cars have thinned out a bit - compared to a couple of years ago - but probably the same number of cars that were there a couple of months ago).

I haven't seen a Fiesta Econetic (2009-2010?) for a long time. Anyone else? My copy of the Herald Sun's test from Dec 18, 2009 said "it's as efficient as Ford claims". [3.7 litres/100 ks]

got to share this.

Mt dad bought a service station/workshop way way back in 1948, before the war he was a salesman at Archibald Motors Christchurch NZ who were Jaguar agent as well as RR and Bentley.

1950 a MK V Jag rolls into dads forecourt, the owner had been impressed with dads integrity and was heading back to England for 12 months and wanted to leave his car under dads keeping and care. Dad was so broke financially from buying the business he rode a push bike to and from work, granted 3/4 mile. So was a bit overwhelmed at the generosity of said gentleman.

August 1950 I decided to enter the world early and very quickly, the Jaguar was in our driveway, at 3AM dad threw mum into car and tried high tailing it to hospital but I thought bugger that I am coming out and out I did in the back seat.

After everything was sorted out, mum & I settled into hospital, car was thoroughly cleaned up. Upon owners eventual return he was informed and rather chuffed about the whole episode.

Now in NZ when purchasing a vehicle you can get a record of all previous owners, My baby brother did better financially than I ever did and 6 years ago decided to buy a Jaguar..... what would be the chances of that ever happening again.

Awesome story there Tonz!

What I'd give to find my grandad's Jag back in the UK (XJ6, Mustard yellow, black vinyl roof) or the Daimler he upgraded to in the 1980s (Deep blue)...

And a gentle reminder that The King is sitting at $400,500 with 23 hours to go at it's auction:

I used to like getting jobs at shannons in artarmon. Always heaps to drool at. At one point there was a less then mint
phase 3 gtho. Had drip trays full legnth under it as it was leaking from everywhere. I needed it moved to get above it. Asked the bloke what he reckons it'd go for. He said half a mill easy. I asked 'even with the leaks?'. He goes yep, theyre genuine leaks. It sold for 750k.
There was always plenty of other rare cars not just Australian royalty. Stuff like one time there was a ferrari testarossa, another time a lamborghini diablo sv, even stuff like the odd mercedes 190e evolution.

Referred means it wasn't sold by the auction. The owner then gets the choice of accepting or rejecting the bid. This usually happens if the bid is close to the reserve price.

Had an old guy rock up in a GE M-X6 at the dealership, always thought that looked cool and have aged pretty well for a mid 90s car. Would be epic if they were RWD.

Don't mind the look of its Ford sibling either.

Red dual cab PC Courier, 2WD, spotted a few times on a “rat run” I take from Lane Cove Rd to West Ryde. Shiny, better kept than many of its vintage. Seems somehow like a car I’d expect to see in Tasmania by age/condition.

Saw an old stock mid 90's commodore ute, just plain white parked in a driveway, parked behind it a HZ kingswood ute, i don't know if they made one but looked like maybe had front end of better model. I've forgotten more than I remember about old holdens. Parked behind that was an old Val, again I'm not an expert but looked an earlier one, hadn't moved in a while. Wonder if they will ever see the road again or just kept as future projects

Really original S pac of those VR-VS Commodore utes look a treat, you still see them on occasion around here as a small cheap car tradie commuter (face it, the VR-VS are small cars now compared to everything else on the road, probably more narrow than a Corolla now)

Thank you for that research BFGhiaIIZF6

Is 555K good for the condition? Didn't a mint one go for over a mill? About 750K was the high just before the GFC I think.
