Don't think they hideous just all other colour combos better. It's only the mags for me if the mags were normal colour it be fine for me. Red wheels are too much IMO. |

The R-spec should have been the GT from the start of Miami build. Subtle changes like piano black finish inside made so much difference IMO. thats really my only let down of the inside on the FGX. Oh and boost n oil temp would have been nice too. That one is lazy considering the hard work was done already with FPV range.
Call me crazy or whatever else nuts, spec savers lol but those two changes and I'd be completely satisfied with the FGX interior. Legit |

Wow, the XR8 and the GTF side by side are almost identical. Looks to me that there would be more cold air coming into the XR8 by the look of it, plus they've streamlined that top cover too. Can't wait to get mine, you'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

They are identical engines so there's no reason it should look different I think the only differences really are launch control and the tune. There was some really awesome info about the actual engine dyno tests Ford did at the FPR day yesterday, looks like the difference between the 351 tune and the 335 tune is a bit more than just 16kW at the fly and wheels. If you're considering one of these XR8's for pure driving pleasure and not the quickest quarter time everyone that was talking yesterday about their cars gives the nod to the manual (as do I). If you're after the quickest possible 0-100 time go the auto. I know this probably isn't new news but just wanted to reiterate it for those guys looking at buying that are unsure about which box to go for.

I can see it's not finished off yet but the White paint under the bonnet shows off the engine bay detail very nicely..........do they normally paint body colour on white non FPV Falcon cars or is it a press car or something? Cheers Mick |

I noticed that there's no sound deadening under the bonnet, is that normal ?

Nah it's normal. Can't remember when they dropped it.

I don’t know if it’s true but a friend who has one said the dealership said it was to allow the heat to dissipate quicker when switched off. Though the pessimist in me says it’s could also be a small cost saver. |

My BFGT doesn't have it and I've also removed the engine cover so everything is exposed. Car is daily driven and near on 8 years old and bonnet paint is fine. Its more the occasional stone chip that's the problem. |

Going by those photo's from the factory floor, it looks like the XR8 gets some "off line" attention like the FPV cars did.
