No need to resort to fanboyism. If you only have $60k to spend, prefer Fords and need the new car then by all means get the falcon it will be great. I just think the HSV is better if you can afford it (and many of us can't).

I'd rather an XR8, pocket the difference, and be happy that the GTS is only a poofteenth quicker. And I get to eat Clubbies for breakfast, still with a hunk of change in my pocket.
Plus I'm not going to be racing these *******, so who cares what they get for their money. I'm buying what I want, for me, to make me happy. If I happen to scare a little old lady by mashing the loud pedal and making her change her dacks, then I will be a happy camper.

Compare the new XR8 to the SSV it's direct price point competitor and things get a bit clearer... one has the best engine and the other has the modern interior and tech. Of course it comes down to what the individual is looking for in a car. The FG X XR8 definitely fills a market (proven by the number of orders already placed)

I have never stopped & had a good look at a GTS.
I like Fords so to me it don't matter what the GTS has The GTS might be better equipped but in my eyes not to the tune of 40k |

Yep... FoA may have axed the Falcon Wagon a long time ago now... but I haven't !! My Wagon is still "King of the load"... and I'll be driving mine for a lo....ng time to come yet !
An FG / FG X Wagon would have been good though ! D

Thanks Goth, knew it continued well into the FG era, but wasn't sure if it still existed.
Shame us Ford drivers never got an FG/FGX V8 Sportswagon.............

Why anyone would get a 2014 plate (other than for a discounted price down the track) is beyond me. Especially since it's released in December. You have the car for 1 month and it's effectively 1 year old.

I imagine alot of people are planning to keep the cars for an extended length of time so its build date would be fairly irrelevent.
