Off the top of my head Id say it would be the same box and ratios as the previous model 5.0 GT..........engine tune on the other hand might be a bit of a nudge, nudge, wink, wink 335 tune though. Cheers Mick |

My understanding is that the 179kW figure for the Ecoboost 2.0 was based on using 95RON fuel. Using 91RON, it'll only pump out 176.

If any of the Ford Miami 5 litre builders are reading or hear of this site, some requests, given this motor will be going up against euro high performance including the C63 shortly,
-please build the motors strong and fine guys... - For manuals , especially those going into smoke XR8s for March/June delivery to Kloster Ford in Newcastle, tune them for north of 355rwkw- you know the manuals deserve and warrant this -nudge nudge-wink wink Last edited by asagaai; 03-11-2014 at 10:56 AM. |

The rear end has grown on me since the initial launch and looks quite nice from certain angles. The overall look isnt quite as "aggressive" as the outgoing G6ET with its seemingly lower looking stance and Boot lip spoiler and "chunkier" look all round . FG X is definitely a "smoother" almost thinner / smaller looking car. The front end however........ From directly front on - I didnt mind it. From a 3/4 on view it does look out of proportion and from side on it still looks weird and grafted on with an overly long looking overhang. I stared at it and walked around it for quite some time and I reckon over time we will all get used to it and certain colours will look much better than others , but it wasnt luv at 1st sight. |

I saw the new falcon in the flesh for the first time this afternoon as I followed a silver G6E & XR6 and their fluro clad drivers on the Ballan/Geelong rd through Bacchus Marsh and up towards Ballarat. I got a pretty good look at them from most angles and have to say they are a much better looking machine in the flesh than in any image that I have yet seen. I know that's hardly a revelation on this board, but it really surprised me. The G6E is particularly impressive in the flesh.

Having watched closely at 'The Shrine' when Dicky absolutely wrung the sacrificial Victory Gold XR8 FGX's neck, must concur that it looks rather balanced, in motion.
That is to say, the proportions appear to work, whilst on-the-move, as it were. The pure beauty of the launch FG XR8/GT/F6/GTP/GTE/F6E will possibly never be matched in our lifetime, but for what the FG-X is - a 2014/15/16 Falcon, it wins hands down against the current market of 'poseurs' - and that includes those 'other' V8 engined offerings from that 'other' onshore (not for long, either) manufacturer. Push-rods had their place - in the post-war years! Good evening. Bonn

Push rods came in later than OHC. Nothing wrong with push rods. The old Windsors in the AU were push rod, decent little engine especially in the T series. The 5.6 was one of the if not the finest engine produced in AU. I rate it better than the 5.4 that followed in the B series.

And what Experience have you had with AU Windsors & B series XR8s. As someone who has had an AU II 220 & BA XR8s, it Sounds like the answer is None Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but for some ignorance is bliss. |

Instead passive aggressiveness how about showing some facts instead? I am more than happy to be corrected but not with immaturity. I have owned a BF2 XR8 but can only base the Windsor experience on others experiences. The little windsor engine got rave reviews from here and publications. Unfortunately my ownership experience with the 5.4 XR8 wasn't so glowing. It was better on paper than in reality. So yes I do have experience.

And no V8 for Aus! Those prices are ridiculous and highlight the new Falcon sharp pricing. XR8 auto for 60K drive away is a steal by comparison. Once the multinationals remove all local manufacturing in Australia, we will be well and trully screwed and cars here will be dearer than in Singapore.

You don't belong here with that kind of comment. If its not your opinion, why say it. It's insulting

Who gives a **** about hyandai?? This isn't a jap crap thread or anything Asian, it's a thread to talk about the last FGX falcon and maybe a bit about its direct competition.. In no way shape or form is a hyandai or will it ever be the Ford Falcons competitor..
I will gladly **** all over that car anytime a day in my XR8 with a great big blown V8 bark.. Try get all it's modules for its "unbelievable" tech to make that sound!! I can't be the only one surely that doesn't give a rats *** what hyandai is doing and never EVER will.! |

I'm sure its a nice car but I'll never buy one to find out. To me, a Korean version of a German luxury car is just an imitator not to be taken seriously.
