I hear ya Daz. I've been to that place, and it's not fun.
I can only imagine how much worse surgery and not being able to get help from your surgeon when you need it would exacerbate an already awful situation.

...and I was hoping to snag one of those naughty little babysitters one day to look after my kids. Oh well, another illusion shattered.

People who can't park...
Some recent gems: Good luck to anyone wanting to get in or out of that driveway... I mean.. really?? In a street full of units and next to no parking lets park our POS Starlet with 1.8m on each side... Is there some sort of 'name and shame' site these could be posted to I wonder???

Big hate for the day..
I go to the local footy in the Sportsman and find a spot to park up to watch my boy play in the minis. I find a spot between a shade humpy with some benches and tables under it on one side and the timekeepers box on the other, I can just see the whole field, just. I park a couple of feet behind the bench that lines the fence just in case someone wants to actually sit down and then go off to watch a few minutes of my daughter play netball before rocking in to the change rooms with my lad to see if they need any help. Sometimes I end up being time keeper or a goal ump. Anyway, I wander back to the car to take a seat for the game and grab a drink only to find some inconsiderate toss pot has parked his nice new Ranger next to me between me and the shade humpy, I thought I'd got close enough to to stop exactly what this bloke just did. Not only did he park a slab sided 4 1/2 foot high wall of steel along side me but he pulled as far forward as he could till his spotlights would have nudged anyone in the back that tried to sit on the bench in front thus completely blocking my view to 1/3rd of the field to my right.... I hate that. THEN !!... after I walked away to calm down, I came back 5 minutes later, just in time to see a$$wipe #2 pull up on the other side of me, in a new Hilux, between me and the timekeepers box. This lovely bloke, because he had to squeeze in, pulled even further forward than dropkick #1 till his bull bar is on top of the benches and his spotties are about 18" from the fence, so he could see past the timekeepers box. This effectively blocked off the 1/3rd of the field to my right. To top it off, toss pot #1 isn't even sitting in his Ranger, but out under the humpy on a bench and toss pot #2 locks his rolux and walks off never to be seen again. I HATE THAT!!!!

Those Youi adds....
Funny, with every discount applied they were 40% more than the rest. That didn't really bother me, the 30 min call where they throw in little personal stories and random chit chat that had nothing to do with the quote is what peeved me off. And they won't tell you the price till the end... Geeze, I hate that... Do you get me?

Too many times I have put up with the same or similar crap to this at the local games. I don't think its a coincidence it normally involves a large 4 WD.
***** me no end when you park for view points while being courteous to those that have already arrived while also considering people may want to leave early...... and then the neanderthal reverses in with no idea or interest. Last edited by GasoLane; 27-05-2014 at 01:23 PM. |

Jumping on the 4WD band wagon.
4WD drivers who have zero consideration for other traffic. It's a pain in the **** when a 4WD pulls up next to you at the intersection (multi lane roundabouts are GREAT for this), and pulls forward just a little further than you so you can't see a thing. I mean, I know I should remember my x-ray glasses when I drive, but COME ON!

This one is petty but annoys me none the less.
I like to read/look over car adverts in the Carsguide whilst I eat lunch/breakfast, just for fun, never know what you will see and comparing prices ect. Why is it so hard for dealers to get it right when describing the car they are trying flog. For example, a large Melbourne based Ford & FPV dealer you would think would know their product. Tell me, when did Ford EVER fit a V6 engine to a Falcon??!! Every Falcon in this add was described as such even the FG F6 310! Why describe an auto as "T-BAR auto" on a newish Falcon (or any Ford for that matter). An actual T-Bar last appeared on a Falcon 14 years ago! "Duco" is/was a paint process in the 60's, why would you describe a modern car as having "Flawless duco"!! I know, I need to get out more, but as a car nut, and a Falcon nut more specifically, things like the calling an Inline 6 a V6 is boils my blood.

getting so close to the end of succeeding a semester of school, only to find out that you didn't pass your exam re-sits by 5-8%, exams witch you gotta pass to continue going through the course, that really ground my gears yesterday, still haven't told the family of the fails either and honestly dunno what to say as l feel like a total disappointment to them.

I have one daughter who is book dumb but extremely street smart and can easily balance a home budget. My second daughter is street smart and book smart but can only do basic maths. Having said that she manages an electronic store and can run it efficiently. Summary, don't beat yourself up. Some people's brains are not made for certain subjects. Be honest and up front with your family (parents). Cheers Vincenzo - proud Dad no matter what.

Nobody cared. Mum gave me a bit of a lecture about working too much, but I had to to put myself through uni, so I just shrugged it of, did summer school, blitzed it the second time round (believe me, it's WAY easier second time round), uni looked at my subsequent marks for summer school during the compulsory review they do if you fail more than 40% or whatever it is, and sent me on my merry way into the next semester. If you can't take the subjects again this semester, and have to wait it out, take an LOA, chill for six months, do some pre reading, work a bit, have a holiday. In the end it's six months, and won't reflect badly on you.

Government websites. Tried to claim online for dad and partner pay but their system claims im not who I say I am. Had to go into centrelink in person for the privilege of wasting 2 hours of my life for some power hungry desk clerk to tell me I can do it online. Well no actually I cant... GRRRRRRRRR

The eldest of my two daughters got an OP of 4 and is doing a uni degree of only 3 years instead of the usual 4 years. She really loved school and studying. My other daughter was geared differently - somewhat of an artist, not an academic. She's doing a cert 3 in aged care as that's what she wants to do. Get back on your bike Mr Nice Guy, don't ever give up, keep trying, that's something to be proud of. You're only a failure when you give up mate. Cheers!
