Maybe they were thinking it is like the old XR8s that Hulk describes as being "gutless" and getting "flogged" by supercharged ecotecs (lol).

I stopped off at my local Ford dealer yesterday. They had a gold coloured XR6.
You really need to see them in the flesh, they are nice. To me, they look sharp. I would have liked to have seen an XR8 but I might have to wait to see one on the road. I had a good look at the interior. I know it has been around for a while now but it still looks good and the differences to the seats are nice, mind you I haven't owned an FG. However, you would get used to it and with Sync2 it spices it up a bit. If I wasn't about to start a mortgage I would have found a way to get into an XR8. On another note, I had an GTF next to me at a set of lights yesterday. Blue with the black stripes. Now that would have been nice to have in the garage. They sure look the goods and the sound on the stock exhaust is nice. |

Add a 20mm drop in ride height plus some dark tint and that would complete the look

I don't mind the tan. Gives it more of an old school Fairlane luxo vibe.

Hi all.
Just a few thoughts on the new XR8 now that I've spent a couple of days with it and done a trip to Sydney and back. Exterior. Love it. Many on here have stated time and again, "you have to see it in the "flesh"". It's true, pictures do not tell the true story. The rear looks excellent and the "over hang" at the front that some have commented on is nowhere near what the pictures would lead you to believe. The grey mirrors work really well with the mags, grill and driving light surrounds. At least with Kinetic they do, IMHO. The DRL's are awesome. Interior. IIRC some one on the forum said sometime ago that if you had an FG the interior was not that different and if you had an earlier model the change would be worth it. Well I've come from a BF2 XR6 and the change is massive. All the silver has been toned down (thank Jupiter!), The leather is very well done and the seats are comfortable. The dark roof lining is great, so much better than beige (brown of any hue should not be allowed near a car inside or out). The dash is well laid out and everything is easy to reach. I haven't played with Sync 2 that much yet but it is really easy to use (my daughter has taken to calling it Henrietta, as all of my falcons since she could speak have been Henry). Although when my wife spoke an address for Wooloomooloo Sync 2 kept sending us to Woy Woy. And that view out of the windscreen and over that big wide bonnet bulge is amazing. Engine, drive line, suspension and brakes. For those that own an Rspec or GT-F the following won't be a surprise for you. WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Some final thoughts. Since I picked it up on Thursday dozens of people have done double takes at traffic lights or when I have driven pass them or they me. Surprisingly mostly dunnydoor drivers. I've had people drive up next to me and give the car a good look and others give the big thumbs up as they go past. A bloke and his other half drove past me on the highway back to Canberra this morning and took pictures. I know some have still said that they aren't convinced even after seeing an FG X XR or G6E, over the last day or so, in the flesh but for me, and I know I'm biased, I couldn't be happier. Every time I've gotten into the thing I've had the biggest, dopiest smile on my melon you could imagine. And when it comes down to it isn't that the whole idea! Thank you to all the people at Ford Aust' who fought for the last Falcon and thankyou to all the crew at Broadie for building an awesome bit of kit. Cheers, Garry.

I'd still get one but to someone with no allegiance in this price range it might be a bit kitsch. |

Thanks for the impressions Garry, much appreciated! No FGX's of any variety in the lot at my local Ford dealer yet, so I haven't seen one yet.
Looks terrific in White, and I dig that Tan interior also. In fact, there's not much I don't like about the FGX... gotta find some moolah! |

Well done Gary, it's a feeling only a falcon fanatic understands. Still remember that feeling when I drive my FG F6 off the showroom floor. |

Saw a white FGX XR6T at a dealer the other day.
And next to an FG, for comparison. |

White looks great, I have this thought in the back of my mind, a last minute color change from black to white!
I wish some showroom black XR8 pics would surface. Majority seems to be white so far and they look great! |

A very special thanks to those that built the engine. It's a beautiful thing to drive. The initials on the block are P.G. Cheers Boss. Garry.
