Im with you on that one, id buy an XR6 T just for the wheels alone, they look fresh compared to the XR8 FPV hand me down wheels which are now 4 years old.

Just personal choice really. The XR8 is nice but they really should have put the GT spoiler on it, would have toughened it up a lot with little outlay.

Saw the FGX in silver, it was parked just behind the fence of the Ford assembly plant in broadmeadows.

Could only see it from the highway from a distance and only saw the back of it but my mind has changed now it looks much better in the flesh!

The new XR6 Turbo rims look great. Pity that they wont designed to clear the brembo brakes.

ok, is the instrument cluster the same wiring, I know they have changed the outer ring on the dials but it is the same as FG11 otherwise? the reason being I would like to fit a GT cluster. I did it in my FG XR8 and I love it.

Went to my local Ford dealer on the weekend and seen a black xr6 ute and black xr8 these things look fantastic in the flesh.

No for some oddball reason the XR8 gets high series mirrors and a chrome flashing in the space where the indicator goes. The XR6T should be the same IMO given it is the perf. XR6. But it gets the pox orange indicator, grey mirror scalp whereas the normal XR6 gets a body coloured mirror scalp

It's not so much bagging the car, it's just that it could have been so much better. It's just to far behind the VF commodore with features

I bought a SSV Redline wagon. If I was going for a sedan I may have waited to drive an XR8. But Ford have no option for me so it made the choice easier

At least both cars come with 9 inch rims and 275 Tyres. And brembo brakes stock are great

Only problem is 275 rear tyres and brembo brakes are a waste on an SS. No offence but they don't need it.

The XR8 will smoke an SSV Redline all day!

Stock maybe not. And yes stock the XR8 has more power. But we don't normally drag race while driving to work. Well I don't anyrate. That said. Magnason heartbeat for me early next year. Then the redline will have decent power as stock I agree they are pretty lame. Then both my cars will have just over 400rwkw

Also remember the Redlines are a handling package over the normal SS, Brembos and 275s aren't for point and shoot stuff, more for stopping power, fade resistance and corner exit grip on a track day.

Had to head down to Wollongong today so I took the opportunity to call into my nearest Ford dealer, that being Harrigan Ford.
2 FGX in stock.An XR6 ute in white and a white G6E.
Ute was sitting proudly at the entrance to the yard while the sedan was sitting out in the holding yard covered in bugs, dirt and other rubbish associated with its journey on the trailer.
To anybody who has'nt seen one yet, I can only say you have to see it in the metal.I've been a bit underwhelmed by the photos on here but as soon as I saw the ute, I knew that I just have to buy one.
None of the salesmen seemed interested in speaking to me.Even more disappointing was the fact that I was the only person looking through their stock.
Eventually, I was asked: "Are you right there mate ?" By a guy from spare parts.
He went off and dragged one of the salesmen inside to have a chat.
Salesman seemed a nice fellow.Advised me that Ford have not yet released prices on FGX Falcons yet because they are'nt on sale until December 1.
I did'nt have the heart to tell him about Garry collecting his XR8 on Friday.
However, as he shuffled on his seat and typed some numbers on his keyboard, he advised me that for the ute out the front, I could pay $44K today and take it home Wednesday.
And, as far as XR8 is concerned, their allocation is sold out but he does'nt know many they were allocated.
In all, today has taught me:
1) I want an XR6 ute in White.
2) I don't think I'll buy it from Harrigan ford.

Why do salesmen keep telling potential customers this? Ford released retail prices months ago, and dealer price points weeks ago.

I got told by a "salesman" on Saturday that no XR8's are being built until March and that no dealer nationwide had any in stock. Despite me telling him there is a white one on Carsales for $65K.

I agree with you mate, these things really look the goods in the flesh, i like plenty of other falcon models , but dare i say it ? ...... best looking Aussie henry yet.
