The Star Trek Transporter 'room'.
Is it necessary? Why is it that they can transport someone from say the surface of a planet directly to sick bay, or the bridge yet when they receive someone or go somewhere they tend to have them in that room where they need to stand on that circle thinggo?

People wear masks to protect themselves and others from Covid 19, which statistically they have a 1% chance of dieing from if they actually contract it.
Some of the same people; congregate in groups, pull their masks down and smoke cigarettes, which statistically they have a 50% chance of dieing from?

Why is it I see many people wearing dust masks in public? They will not protect the wearer from bacteria and viruses.

Why is it that until yesterday i didnt know dual purpose wobble and straight socket adapters for impact drivers even existed? Theyre amazing. I have straight and wobble extentions for my socket sets. Each have a purpose. But the dual purpose adapters for my impact driver i bought yesterday are awesome. 1 click of the socket wobble for the little angle if you need it. 2 clicks its a standard straight adapter. I have uni joints if i need maximum socket angle, but how did i not know dual purpose adapters existed?

^ Why is it I still have no idea what you're talking about? Got a pic or link?

A poor filtering or fitting mask protects others - not the wearer - so places like asia are all wearing masks to prevent the spread if worn by the sick (or those people that have it but have no or mild symptoms). Last edited by oldel; 09-04-2020 at 08:49 PM. |

Thats feux caring. I ask but dont ask for signatures on my phone for job cards. I just ask for a name and put in my job notes who approved it. So no signature but a name. I dont currently sign for deliveries either. They point then stand back whilst i take take my delivery. Im fine with all that. Its just the way of the world at the current time.

Or checkout chicks not wanting to take your cash, but they will grab items off the conveyor belt for scanning which you placed on the conveyor with your own hands. Sheer stupidity.

Why is it OK to drive through school zones at 60 km/hr on roads which are usually 80 km/hr but not acceptable to drive at 60km/hr in school zones on roads which are usually 60km/hr?

Why is it that atheists are called non-believers? They strongly believe there is no God.

I spent 10 years in a Pentecostal cult, the absurdity of it all, is the belief in god is a default setting and you have to opt out. Why isn’t MY belief the default and YOU have to opt out :/

Earlier ships had to use the pad as the transporter used a narrow path through the ship's hull to beam through. Bit like an elevator to the outside of the ship, then beamed further from there. Later ships could beam into and out of everywhere.

I cant figure this one out. My apprentice ever since he started has been rattling on about having a work car. As a second year he cant do any work unsupervised. So the plan is he can do lighting inspections, make a list and then when i rock up, we can do the work. So today he emptied out the van of the bloke who got the sack, empty empty, no ladder, no gear, no tools. Just a pad and pen. So to a degree he is getting the responsibility he has been wanting and for the time being, the work van he has rattled on for so long about. But he now doesnt want it.

Why is it that some countries seem to naturally sound better with 'The' in front of it?
The Philippines, The Maldives, The Ukraine etc. But you would never say that you are going to The India, The Japan etc. Anyway...

Painting the spare room with Mrs Rallye Sport today, I'm about to cut in around the door and I say " Doors going to be closed for a while if you need anything outside nows the time" The answer was "No".
Why is it.....? 60 seconds later she looks at me in obvious discomfort and says "I need to go to the toilet"
