To be fair you didn't answer his question!

As far as seating complaints go, I only noticed it in the introduction of the AU model along with the swooped roof. E series didn't seem to suffer this issue as much & I've owned all models XD-onwards at one point or another.

My AU is perfect.

I dont know what it is, maybe the interior shape, but the Commodore seems to hug you. I actually dont like it at all and when renting commodore (forced too) Im always jacking up the seat so I dont look like some bogan in a VL.

Anyone seen or got photos of an FGX in Vanish?

I think its the only colour I haven't seen and given how well Smoke looked in the flesh I'm thinking vanish might be worth consideration.

I currently have a steel G6E so not sure how close it will be in comparison....

Just saw a black FG X XR8 driving around Geelong. Followed it for a bit and it looks real nice from behind. The XR8 badge on the boot looks fine, no probs with it.

I've highlighted a bit that says it all. In all other cars you can easily see all of the dials. In this car it's "just" see the top of the dials no matter how you set up the seat/steering wheel. The steering wheel only needs to go say 1-2cm higher and all complaints would stop.

I'm 6 feet tall and don't have fat legs. As I mentioned, in all the other cars I've owned, this has never been an issue. Sure it may not be an issue for everyone but this is the only car where you read about people complaining about the seat/steering wheel. I don't recall reading any other car reviews where this is mentioned.

What is everyone's problem with the discussion about the seating position?
It's an issue for some people, why not discuss it.

Just about every opinion in this thread has an opposite opinion, that's the nature of opinions.

If you don't want to discuss it, don't.
Those that do want to discuss it can.

It's not hard to have multiple topics being discussed in one thread, just focus on what you want to talk about and you'll be happy.

Back on track...on the XR8 with things that matter.

I visited Klosters in Newcastle CBD to look at a smoke Xr8 in the metal- as I have a manual XR8 smoke on order for March/April delivery- and wanted to be sure of the colour.

Firstly, the colour is great- just wow. Also- the metalwork on the bonnet- the bulge and second crease just pops-looks sensational. Rear end looks nice and curvy but tight- just like my taste in women l.

The interior looks fantastic- nice leather and stitching. The centre console armpiece is leather stitched- very happy as I like a nice leather pad for left arm when operating manual tiller.

Downside- popped boot- yeah- carpet and thin cardboard covering spare wheel is a joke- OK- the money not spent there. At least a full sized spare.

Engine fired up and revved, with me standing at the rear. Had a similar sensation I have experienced rock climbing over many years- feeling the potent endorphins of adrenaline spiked excitement and fear washing through me.....

Come on you guys in Geelong- can you please build my Miami more quickly??? Please??

....Do ...not...know... how...I ...can...wait..for....sooo long

Wow, whoever did that graphics package must have been in the secret employ of the opposition!

Rarely do you see such a non-professional, clunky and ugly graphics package as this one, especially from a multinational corporation.

Just terrible.

Yep I'd say the heat gun would of been applied to that effort pretty quickly, and the car put back on the lot

I think they had the thought of the viewers at home, they only got a good look at it when it was being driven around the track, it needed to be readable and still show off the car on camera. Standing still it is horrible.....

I saw my first one in the flesh today. I think they look great.
The back looks classier in real life and the front overhang isn't as bad as some photos show it.

Does the new shroud over the front air intake make any change to economy, sound and/or overall performance?

Not sure, probably a bit of all of those things, but I've settled on it being part of the improved aerodynamics of the vehicle.

Might make it a bit more interesting to fit a growler CAI or the like.

Looks like there might be more room down there; so the turbo boys might be able to whack thicker intercoolers or radiators with ease? I'm sure in time some new FG X specific performance parts will be made i.e. altering whats currently available to suit

Latest Wheels test gave the win to the ssv over the xr8 - both autos.
They complained about driving position, brakes, interior and unsettled ride.

XR8
0-100 5.2
400m 13.3 @180.8km/h
80-120 2.8

SSV
0-100 5.7
400m 13.8 @168.0km/h
80-120 3.5
