T5Z
4.11's
ChipTorque Chip

I had clutch issues (pressure plate not releasing at high rpm). So I went to a 10.5" BA Mk1 Flywheel and 10.5" clutch. Then I was able to run a 13.8 & 13.9.

Since then I havent been able to get my times that low since. I now have a 6 speed and hydraulic clutch. Its much harder to launch as there isnt as much "feel" with the clutch pedal. Plus I think the ol 4.0L is getting tired. Its copped 5 years of hard labour!
When did the 3" Exhaust come Paul?

I got that when I put the BBM on in Aug 07. The 13's were done with the log manifold. Dec 07 the 6 speed went in.

Just sent an email to Keith at Wade Cams about what Im looking for cam wise.

He reckons based on the info I gave him. The AU390 grind is a much better profile than the 1673 AU equivalent.

Here are the specs:

Cam Lift
In 278
Ex 278

Dur. Adv.
In 258
Ex 254

Dur @ 050
In 201
Ex 195

Valve Lift
In 0.5004
Ex 0.5004

LiftTDC
In 034
Ex 028

Phase angle
114.5

Intake and Exhaust Centreline is both at 114.5
Duration is at the lobe

This cam is designed to work with an auto trans, no hi stall, and 3.45 diff gears on a supercharged application, but with a modified ecu. Which is exactly what Im looking for.

The characteristics of the cam are:
Good Torque in the low-mid range and still makes power to redline. Smooth idle.

What do you guys think of this grind based on the above specs?

Yeah but that's not just is it. What car was that in? Cms cams don't make that much power without headwork and a tune.

There is a non street driven ef that has been built there that made 190+ but it's got big head work and I've got a very big feeling it's got the 4.5L bottom end. I made 157rwkw out of my au which was unopened and untuned, only mods were 3" intake, cam, extractors, hi flow cat and 2.5" exhaust fitted with both muffler and resi.

I haven't seen a cms cam do that in what's virtually a stocker.

Please note I'm not bagging joes products, but I don't think they're the be all and end all.

I would assume 190+ would be a bottom end job perhaps just headwork huge cam and a forged bottom end but hey it could be a stroker as well but I'd expect a little more from that

The 190+ vehicle is still a 4L ... the engine has been built though.

Last run it had it end up coasting over the line at around 14.01 ... it has a shorter diff put it ... with the wrong speedo gear. Caused the ECU to chuck a spazz and went into LHM. If he was able to keep it going under full til ... it would have been around the 13.5 for the 1/4

It looks like it may be heading back out to the track again soon though with the new owner.
