that's like us asking if you have grizzly bears roaming you streets.
Sorry about the double post; the connection dropped out as I was posting.

So as I was saying:

Try living in or around Canberra. I work in Fyshwick and reguarly see a pod along the fence line across the street. That's not to mention all the road kill on the Monaro Hwy, Canberra Ave, Hindmarsh Drive, etc. Of course Canberra really is a big country town. Melbourne, on the other hand (from whence I come), is another story.

It really depends on where you live. The real danger comes from drop bears and hoop snakes, but that's another story

We hand raised one a few years ago, mother had died and we fished it out of her pouch, fed it on baby formula.
was a nice pet,the local kids loved it,unfortunately it just rolled over and died at around 18 months of age..

i see them on the way home from work but i do work a hour from perth so i am passing country land. they are normally laying under trees on peoples properties. also see them down south. used to go to a place called wellington mills and they were half domesticated. used to come eat from our palms when i was about 5 or 6. they can be nice.

Granted they only have the one team, Toronto.

In the last Cricket world Cup, Canada paticipated, and got beaten quite badly.

Seen a couple of roos in town here in my 31 years and heard of heaps of stories of the same. I am frequently visited by a male Koala he's got a temp home in a big gum tree on the side of my yard, he scared the crap out of me one night, i going out to the car to get my wallet and he started 'grunting'. He do's live in this area, heaps of gum trees about. Also tend to get a female here aswell usually with a youngen.

Look, if our old long lost mate... I mean buddy, GMACK, wants an accurate portrayal of Australia and kangaroos, all he needs to do is watch the movie Kangaroo Jack. That will definitely help clear up any misconceptions although it won't expain this:

Around ten years ago I was stopped at the traffic lights at Melbourne Airport. A kangaroo crossed the road right in front of me, from the hotel across to the terminal. Suspect he overnighted there (Travelodge in those days) and was on his way interstate, flying the red kangaroo (Qantas) of course.

I haven't read all this but there are many suburbs in Canberra where roo's are normal in the streets. Some like O'Malley, Macarthur, Fadden, Isaacs etc it is pretty normal to come home and find a few eating your lawn!

Or hit 2 in one street. My mate lives in Fadden backing the reserve. I was driving going a a fairly decent pace and my mate says "Take it easy there will be roos" I said "They aint any.. (BANG)" Needless to say I put the spotties on now. Bastards they are.

I live in Richardson (the ghetto) which is quite a bit away from what you would call normal roo territory and I had one come into my backyard. Lol about 75% of the backyard is concrete, why in hell he chose my yard to bounce into is beyond me!

Well, as an avid Hockey fan, i must say that it really is a Canadian competition despite the fact most of the teams are in America. It originated in Canada, and then expanded to America. And most of the players are Canadian and European anyway. GO THE RED WINGS

We get roo's all the time where I live. Most of them are smaller, younger ones and they are very friendly. The tourists love them. We get both Red and Grey's who often come into our backyard regularly. As shown below :P

We also get emu's wondering down the Town's main road, dumbest animal ever.

Yet, the fact remains that this is an ill perception and based around the few media reports we receive about shootings.

More Americans use their guns lawfully than people who don't.
Which raises about the country being "crazy".
I mean, in what country could Kim Beazley be allowed to run for Prime Minister. I mean, actually be responsible for US! His first bill will be to have a Krispy Kremes chef around him 24/7.

Put it this way...I've only ever seen one in a suburban area, skipping across a main road...and i thought I was smoking something. It was later reported on the Radio that a Kangaroo had gotten lost and had wandered into a Suburban area.
GMACK, The most Common, Grey Kangaroos are actually classed as a Pest..there a lot of them in Central Australia and some scattered up and down the Coastal areas..
