And this is why I think the later B Series and F Series Falcon will disappear more quickly,
there were fewer built and most Bs are hitting the time where expensive repairs happen.

We're gonna hit a balance point where newer Mustangs become more common on the road than FGX Falcon

It's getting a bit harder to find "good bits" at the wreckers for BA/BF now, too (I reckon)... Of the cars that do end up there, it seems to be more of the base model/low series cars, and they seem to be more of the old/worn out variety (rather than the crashed, previosly well looked after cars).

On the flip side... plenty of the better/higher series BA/BFs might have moved into the "keeper" category... so could be locked away in sheds.. so perhaps unregistered, but still viable !??

That happened years ago. There are 25,000 Mustangs on the road, while there are only about 10,000 FGX. Mustang hit the 10k milestone in 2017.

As for the BA and BF, there was a point where well over 90% of taxis in Victoria were BA/BF Falcons. And there were about 5,000 taxis in Victoria in those days (more now). As there was a 6.5 year limit at the time, that means that about 700 Falcon taxis were scrapped and replaced each year, and that's just VIC...

I can't think of the last time I saw a FGX that wasn't a cop car, but Mustangs are everywhere..

Case in point that you need to design and release something shortly after a car hits the showroom rather than when you start receiving demand.

Lost sales is a lag measure, if you act on lost sales you end up missing the opportunity and carrying excess stock.

This is great data.

I was working my way through the Territory numbers. Feeling somewhat despondent at the dwindling numbers of this amazing vehicle. Most of the ones I see on the road these days are delegated the role of family hack. I suspect that most are not getting the basic maintenance they deserve.

I also checked out a few on carsales. Somewhat surprised how well the price is holding up in the current market.

Anyway, I kept reading down the list and saw the F250. I am amazed there are this many still kicking around. I hardly see any these days. Prices seems through the roof. Unless one absolutely needed to tow something really big, I would have though the money would have gone to a newer tow rig.

The Tesla figures are also interesting is so much that I see far more Tesla kicking around than F250. Sure, they are a city car. Whereas the F250 is more country workhorse.

Great work of plotting the numbers into the graph, thanks Ford17.

It shows that in just over 2 years, there has been about 35.000 Falcon BA lost, and almost 40.000 of the older AU model gone.

Anyway a few of these cars may possibly have been stowed away for future barn finds, who knows.

Franco, you should convert your product to fit the new Ranger ;-)

Price has held up as it's cheapish and a really good 'starting a family' wagon? There's demand, babies and toddlers everywhere round these parts.
