You won't go too far wrong with any 2 door hatch, they look the guts lowered with a decent exhaust and decent wheels, still look cool!

Add difff oil on your clothes or in your hair, cuts, scrapes and grazes. Also oh god it's so bad when it's cold and bang a finger or two.

Seriously though it's both. Use your brain and all the tools and information possible to solve the issue as best as you can. No reason to eschew all tools available, just don't get led on the wrong track, or become a parts swapper.

It's "multi-skilling", to do it right you have to know the mechanical and the electrical/electronics and be prepared to do both. It's hard and also an undervalued skill - not many can do both. also there's not much money in it despite how rare it is for people to float in both worlds IMO and that's why people leave. I'm lost in the complete digital world, but I exist in the middle mechanical-analogue/early digital cross over, but we're dinosaurs that aren't ever going to make it big. Because I mainly worked for myself that means I couldn't 'work up' off the tools onto a desk job with promotions for some employer. These days that makes me a has been, too old to hire.

I bought a ute recently, now I've taken up this new 'hobby' of collecting free **** from Facebook marketplace for my oldies

I'm not sure why we need so many tables, TV cabinets and other assorted junk but I reckon I won't need to buy furniture for my own place

There is a mark on the rear bumper of my ute from being asked to pick up an outdoor bench. I'd only had the ute 4 days. Happened as the person with the request slid the bench out the tailgate and it fell between gate and tub. Early lesson

Is it brand new?.....the ute, or an older one like daily driver, and "does it really matter in these times of covid stress"
Get them to pay for the repair if it's a new one!

Nah, this happened a good while back.
It was an accident. Just left a telltale sign as a reminder.

I was just commenting after Franco's post about collecting things for others as being a new hobby.

My oldies are boomers, they didn't move out until they bought their first place together - ethnic family though.

- Don't rent someone else's house
- Move out once own own home
- Even if married and have kids, all live in one household until step 2 happens

Mums gonna be upset when I move out - you're only 46, why are you leaving me

My oldies don't mind though, they're trying to get me to buy an investment property and then still live with them

Mediterranean and middle eastern families, a little different than Anglo ones, turn 18 and the locks get changed.

Anyway, less about me being a 30 year old unflushable turd and more about classic car values - F series are worth ridiculous cash at the moment, was talking to one of my customers yesterday building a 1950s one, bloke is in his 70s and between him and his sons has 11 of the bastards AND a 1980s Bronco.

Blokes sitting on a gold mine - said 20 years ago you'd pick up an absolutely mint example for $8K.

I got mine for $7200 a couple years ago, was a little rusty in the guards but nothing too bad.

Such an agricultural vehicle but they command such high prices for a glorified tractor, they do look mint though when you see a 1980s SWB F100 on the road - too bad they rust like nobodies business, I reckon there won't be many left in another 10 years.

Chevrolet C10 is worth heaps now, it seems the light duty stuff is worth the most, the C10/F100 and F350/C30 is worth less for some reason, maybe because they're even worse to drive

Ha, our work F350 pantech was a demon, you could not keep it in a straight line, coppers always pulling you over thinking you were drunk, lol, they were shocking!

Do you really want to go down this path

Facts:
We bought out first house in 1981
I was paid just over $4 ph, happy to show payslip if you want to see it
We had to have 1/3rd of price of the house in the bank for 12 months before the bank would even talk to us, think about that in todays terms
We paid up to 18% interest
We had a foam mattress as a lounge
We had a 12 inch B&W TV on a milk crate
One wage
One very 2nd hand car
Started work at 15
At one point I had 3 jobs just to make ends meet, .main job was driving trucks, 2nd job on my days off was loading shipping containers with bags of milk powder, and one night a week working behind the counter in a servo

You have no idea, you look at us now and are jealous, we worked ****ing hard for everything we have.

You just whinge about what you haven't got, yours is the generation with the highest disposable income, but you chose to waste it on toys. Yours is the most wasteful generation
